As the thread title say i'am about to share my cls500 2013 build with you. For those of you that want power the thread will be very informative. Target 700-750+hp from m278 engine
Will share all part numbers and parts needed for the upgrade.
So far my upgrades are:
E63 amg s intercooler pump with additional IC raciator
IC separated from the main water circuit (part numbers for the upgrades will be provided)
Alpina b7 spark plug (one step colder)
K&N air filter with lifted air boxes upgrade for more flow
M157 turbochargers (left and right)
63 amg air intake
3 inch turbo-back to muffler exhaust system with 100 cell cats
63 amg ecu maps

Currently my engine is out for the turbo upgrade and exhaust (SS 3 inch turbo-back downpipes, H-pipe straight 3 inch mufflers) setup. Once the car is fully complete will share the result with lots of pictures and dyno run.
Before the turbo upgrade the car did 542HP / 1100NM 0-100km/h 3.8-4sec 100-200 8.3-8.6 sec

I'm very interested in how you got the pump to work. Is the V8 water to air cooled? Also what extent did you have to go through to get the modifications to workwork. Thanks!
Following this build for sure. Finally someone tearing in to the M278 platform. Should produce well. I am also pursuing large gains but going a different route with mine. My car is a Base P1 so will be a bit lighter but also traction hindered a bit till the diff and tires go on! Cant wait to see your results!!
The limiting factor here are the M157 turbo chargers. Iám installing the M157 turbos next week as i was busy with the exhaust (3 inch from the turbo outlets all the way to the mufflers ) The M278 engine has same exhaust valves as the M157 so no problem for 700hp+ with the right ecu tune. You need same boost and fuel to match the M157. Will see after the dyno. The guys who will make the ecu made 801hp crank e63amg s with the same turbos. Also i can confirm that after 6k miles with 1100NM my gearbox is shifting as when it was new.
Will provide full part list after the upgrade is completed.

As I understand, CLS63 w/ tune has about 650 to 700hp at the crank.

I'm no expert but I been told that AMG vs non AMG engine blocks same however some of the components on AMG like pistons, crank, piston arms...etc are stronger to hold the power, by you replacing all the components you are referring, is the engine gonna hold all that power, are you not gonna jeopardize anything...besides that I can't wait to see your results...
The m278 engine feature forged pistons , connecting rods (same part number as M157 engine) and forged crankshaft. I'am sure that m5 f10 or RS6-7 engines are not much stronger than the M278 engine but feature larger turbocharges and better cooling. Will see when the car is ready

I don't think so because their are two tuners and our friend Gardevski here who have changed to the E63 pump.
AMS sells a cooling solution.
SpeedDriven sells the E63 pump as an upgrade.
