2016 CLS400 SPORT SUSPENSION
I own a 2016 CLS400 with the Wheel Package option. It includes the Sport Suspension, which I find too stiff. What needs to be changed (springs and/or struts) to have the comfort suspension?

Cls is kind of stiff in general for me as well. It doesn't have the same comfort as the other/older cars had. It's a sports sedan/coupe. I have it lowered about 1.5-2 inches...sooo bit more stiff here lol
And it comes with Air suspension, so no springs to change here. Me personally, I don't think there's a way to soften up the suspension than stock.
One thing you can do is if you happen to have Run Flat tires, get rid of those and go with traditional tires. They will make some difference in ride quality.

Actually now that I've noticed, my CLS with air suspension has a way harsher ride than my E class with an air suspension did. It IS sold as a sportier car then the E class it's based on, no?

Oh. Well I guess I'm not that much educated on the recent models. Didn't know they changed the suspension on the 400. Maybe that's their selling point for you to upgrade to the 550, air suspension.
I ran coilovers on my W211 E350 and I must say...that rode a bit smoother than lowered CLS550 on stock airbags. Pot holes were harsh, but the way it rode compare to current lowered CLS...it was totally different. I'm still inclined to buy the W211 E55s haha.

What tires are u running? I had pirellis and got rid of them after 15k miles, way too much road noise and the ride was also harsh. I switched to michelin pilot super sports and honestly it was a night and day difference. I also have the sport suspension it still is firm but way better.

I also have the 400 with the sport suspension and today I had to go over some train tracks at about 10-15kph and MAN did it sound BAD going over them.. has anyone else experienced the same going over some train tracks? I always slow down there to about 5kph like a snail because of what happens there lol.

I thought that was only with the 550 with the airbags. I think it might be just the chassis built in a way that you feel going over the tracks just about every freakin where lol.

The video does make some sense about which I never thought about or viewed it before getting the wheels/spacers.
