I guess I'm the only one who hates the clear crap by the back wheels - well here is great news for me and anyone else who hates it to.

After picking up the car this morning, I already removed that crappy film over the back doors and quarter panel. Came right off - went to the CEC showroom off Santa Monica Blvd today to check out wheels and they had a white one with the stick on s**t completely discolored yellow. Called my body shop guy right when I left and he told me it just peels off like nothing - he was right!!!! and it looks 10 x's better - it had already collected some lint under the adhesive where they had wiped it while detailing it for delivery. Good riddance!!! I would recommend whoever wants to do this, do it before several months have passed just in case; but it should peel right off and leave no glue whatsoever.

Thanks for the info. I could not figure out the logic of the Fn film. This will be my first project.

Hard to see in this pic but noticed the film on this silver CLS starting to yellow that I saw yesterday at the dealer. Imagine what it would look like after another year or so.

Yep - yellows big time - the film on the two white ones I've seen looked hideously yellow already.

Glad I could help - I would recommend taking it off pretty soon after you get the car though as I don't know how easy it will come off after a year or so.

I was waiting for a few people to do this. I gotta peel mine off tomorrow morning, its making me absolutely disgusted. Is it clear, or is it the color of the car?

Clear. Looks like it belongs on the front of a 7-Eleven window.

The film was placed on the rear section to prevent rock chips/debris being thrown from the front wheels onto the back from damaging the paint. I believe this was discussed on the message boards shortly after the car was released.

Yep, exactly. And I'll happily repaint my rear doors every year if I have to just to avoid the ugly film.
