2007 CLS replacement parts unavailable.

Hello all.
I hope this post finds you well.

Back in October I was in a fender bender in my new 2007 CLS 550. The car has been in the shop ever since.

Originally it was towed to Mercedes-Benz of Oakland. They sent it to Brooks Motor Cars which is the factory certified body repair shop.

The car has languished there now for 3 months. First the knee airbag was unavialable from MB. It finally arrived Feb 23. Unfortunately the airbag did not include the cover which is back ordered for two MORE months.

Then today they tell me the seatbelt buckles are also not available from MB. This is rediculous. I've been making car payments for three months on a car sitting in the shop.

I've sent an email to MB corporate. Does anyone have any contacts they can give me to get this resoloved?

Thank you for reading this post.

EmergencyDpt.

Lemon Law

Not sure about CA but when my BMW was in the shop more than 45 days, we claimed lemon.

Are you an ED physician?

I'm an ER nurse.
The one who does the work.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Have to say I'm in a bit of a funk about my car.
Looking at BMW's now.

Legal action....

Have you thought about talking to an attorney?
It seems that there should be some obligation on the part of MB to have replacement parts for its new cars.

Good Idea.
I hate to resort to that, however. Not a fan of lawyers. You'd think they would just do what it takes to satisfy a customer. I do it every day in the ER.

Today I got an estimated release date on the air bag cover. 3-22. Once it's released, my dealer can order it, once it's ordered, they will process the request, once the request is processed my dealer can request expidited shipping.

Have you called other dealers to determine parts availability? I don't know your dealer, but across the Bay is Autobahn and I have had only one bad experience with them (my personal information was hacked out of their computer and I need to lock down my credit).

Their service dept is exceptional.

BTW, their body shop is in Belmont, it's called EuroTech. You might give them a call as well.
