211.020 - E 280 CDI
Some more shots withouth Camouflage this time. Absolutely stunning looking. This one doesn't have exhaust pipes because it's the 204hp 4-cylinder 250 CDI! Also nice to see LED headlights.

I'm assuming they'll release the 2011 CLS's in the fall of 2011 in Europe, with an early spring 2012 release here in US and Canada as a 2012 CLS. Hope this helps!

Actually the W221 went on sale in the U.S. in early 2006 as a 2007 model.
The new CLS will go on sale this fall in Europe and early 2011 here as a 2012 model.

They call it a 2011 because they release it in Europe, Middle East, and Africa first. IIRC, when the W221 was first released, they had it out in the fall of 2006. One of my buddie's fathers in Saudi bought a 2006 S500 and it was the new one. So when they released the new S-Class here, it was in early 2007 as a 2007 model.

7 years is a lifespan for most MB models (not counting SL). W211 (which C219 is based on) was available in Europe since feb 2002, W212 since march 2009, C219 from autumn 2004. A brand new CLS will debut in PMS this october, but it will be available in EU from summer/autumn 2011 not sure about US.

Anyone know when the new CLS will be available. Looking at MBUSA.com, it seems like the 2011 CLS bodystyle is not the new facelift we have been seeing. The new facelift it seems will come out in 2012. Any thoughts

The C219 body style is officially retired and no longer being produced.
The very last C219 is a US spec vehicle and it rolled off the assembly on Tuesday July 27, 2010.

One thing. I can get down with the new CLS, but those rims are awful. Looking forward to seeing it in person.

i think mercedes got a little lazy on the CLS.
remember the E class 2 gens back? they improved it by making the new one rounder and sleeker. now the current e class has a complete different touch to it. but you can still tell its an e class.
the new CLS looks like they just fitted the car with some new head and rear lights. messed with the front end a little. the side looks around the same. they changed some lines and thats it.

i found the Merc now days spend less $$$ and resource in developing the car.
Take the C , E and perhaps the new coming CLS ...... pretty much the same interior and minor update on the exterior; no major change at all.
On the other hand the BMW is catching up, look at the new 5 series. Finish is 1st class and the attention to the detail with the design !
