New to the CLS worls and looking to buy some new shoes. Any help on offsets would be appreciated. I have some wheels in mind and they offer in the offset listed and want to ensure they will work for my application

I don't know if you have staggered wheels from rear, but you would remove one product look inside the rim, it will give you the offset or ET (same thing)I think your car comes with 35 in the front,and 30 in the rear, seven ET of 20 to 25 would stick the wheel outside the fender well. The best thing to do would take it to the shop, and have them place a wheel on the car without tire try it. jim

 

20x8.5 et20 and 20x10.5 et25 is perfectly flush with 255/30/20 and 295/25/20 no rubbing.

 

You can run up to 19 offset in rear and i would say 20 offset in the front with no issues @ stock height. (255 30 20 and 305 25 20)
Now my question is if you lower the car how far can you go when Using a Lowering module?
Using a 255 30 20 (9.5inch wheel) and 305 25 20 (11inch wheel) what would be the perfect offset with Lowered CLS. i was going to run either 22 or 17 offset in the front. And 19 offset in the rear. i dont plan to drive the car slammed but i dont wanna rub @ 1" or 1.5" lower than stock ride height.

SL and CLS are Close but not the same. stock offsets are 25 & 27 , sl are in the 30'?

can someone please help me i ordered these rims and they gurantee me they will fit but i wanted youre help i know bolt pattern is correct but im worried about offset they are used and came off a cls550 09 like mines so i dont see why they wouldnt fit but i know you guys are experts with these cars so please help me asap b4 he ships ??? here is link to rims i bought

Et20-25 depending how aggressive looking you want. Don't buy anything in high 20's or 30's and nothing as low as the teens.

 

im confused will the rims i bought on ebay fit my 09 cls550 without me needing anything special like spacers lugs , ettc ?????? the link to ebay add is in post above ..... i know the lug pattern is ok i know tires are ok im worried about the off set which is 35 front 42 rear ???? i got rims for a good deal new without tires there 5,300 im only worried about the offset i know the rest is ok

in the frontt of this forum it says 35 front and 45 rear off set will fit a e550 cuope perfect and my car has same wheel pattern as e550 ?

 

i already bought rims on ebay link is there twice the guy guranteed they will fit or he be wasting his time because i would have to send them back there et35 front and 42 rear exactky >? will that fit i see on a e550 they say thats the perfect flush fitment you can gett >?

 

Your problem is those rims are for a new body cls!!! Don't waste your time trying to make them fit.
Read my above correction , I thought you were asking about tires also, I corrected the above post also. Don't recommend those wheels... You probably will not like the look besides not fitting at all.

With these offsets you will need spacers, at list 10mm spacers.Its not a big deal, with spacers you will need longer lug bolts. Also i think tires will be a little stretched . Is your CLS lowered or not ?

they are used rims and the owner of them said they came off a 2009 cls550 i asked him would i need spacers and he said no i dont get why he would waste both our times knowing ebay will refund me and on another thread they say the off set front 35 and rear 42 would fit a e550 perfect a e550 is the same wheel pattern as my car

are you sure before i cancel this auction that the rims in that ebay link wont fit a 2009 cls 550 stock cls550 ?? i know the bolt patttern will fit its the off set youre saying won't fit ? i dont want to buy spacers and how do you know it won't fit and theres a guy on here that knows his stuff he says there the perfect fit for a e550 which is same as my car in fitment >? i only have till today to cancel

 

If its not lowered then you wont have any problems fitting 35 and 30 sidewall tires.

I have had two of these cars, and tried all different offsets personally. I speak from trial and error like some of our hands on guys on the forum. A 10mm "hub centric only" spacer in the front and 15mm"hub centric" spacer in rear will get you going (if I was stuck with these wheels that is what I would do). A 10mm in rears might (close)work but if you decide to put a larger tire on there it might rub it he inner wheel wells depend. If this was a 11 inch wheel only a offset of 25 or lower would work.
Could cost you a lot for spacers and bolts. Let me know if you need. I might still have 2 brand new 15mm hub centric spacers and 10 extended chrome bolts.

FYI : with out spacers and extended bolt "wheels will NOT fit"
Seller is either making a mistake with offset or mixed up the car it came off of.

Tomorrow is a holiday so I think the post office is closed am i correct? Also he didn't ship them yet but I paid for them in full with my debit card , I have been messaging him since last night to cancel the order and he's not responding... I don't see any reason why he can't cancel the order I did not buy it thru Ebay he gave me his phone number and I bought it outside of eBay so he's not incurring any charges if I cancel.... It's not like it's my fault he is the one who guaranteed me they would fit without any spacers or anything special it really blows because they are $5300 rims without tires and these have tires with 90% tread left so this is like a $7000 value for way cheaper do you guys think since I only paid $1000 plus $250 for shipping it's worth buying the spacers 1,250 total i paid with brand new tires.... also have you read the eBay auction from the link I provided ? Maybe he made a mistake in the offset because when I looked these rims up on the website where they cost $5300 it says it fits my car with no issues , maybe he made a mistake because he said it had Perelli tires and it don't it has general tires so maybe he made a mistake.... his username on eBay is wheels boutique he has a great feedback so I would think he knows what he's talking about , on the other hand I know you guys on this forum are way smarter than anybody because you guys actually own Mercedes and that's all you deal with.... I found top notch spacers for $90 each one the question is is it worth buying the spacers to make them fit ? They are Giovanni Gabbs costing 5,300 without tires and these have tires may be cheap tires but there 90% tread left what do you guys think this is my third CLS I had a silver one with black rims and they were way cheaper than these and it looked great with the black rims , 2009 Mercedes I have now is white and when I look at white cars with black rims its great looking I just don't want to spend another $400 plus i have to pay to get the tire pressure monitors taken out of my factory wheels and put on these and then installed which will probably cost me another $300 so then it's not looking like such a great deal... I saw a set of my factory wheels sell for 2500 on eBay but that was with the tire pressure monitors that wasnt a asking price that's with the bidding ended at... I don't see any reason why he can't return my money when he hasn't even started to ship the wheels his communication is great he was answering all last night up until when I read this forum and told him i think they wont fit , my question to you is did you read the eBay auction that I put the link up ? My other question is will they definitely fit my car if I put the spacers ? My other question is , is it 100% fact that these rims will not fit without spacers ? There is another guy on these forums that everyone says knows everything about wheel fitment , I'm just waiting for reply from him his name is threeMBs and everywhere I read people say he is the smartest when It comes to wheel fitment... He just hasn't replied yet an the thread hasn't had a post since July 2013 so hopefukky he answers in that thread which i will pprovide a link in his 1st comment in the start of the thread he says et35 front and et42 rear is the best you can get fir a e550 and the cls550 is a better version of the e550 and everywhere I read it says the rim fitment on both cars is the same so if threeMBs is correct and internet is correct they should fit perfect , my main question is if the lug pattern fits which i know that 100% that what will be the problem when I install the rims im new to this but not benz ive had 3 cls550 and plenty others this is my newest cls550 with 10k in miles still certified bought it cash for 53k a year ago with 700 miles was thinking bout selling it for 35k the problem is it blue books at about 42,000 but if you look on auto trader for a certified one like mine its worth 53 grand with 30,000 miles and I have a 3rd of that miles wise so i think 35k is super fair but I need new tires in the back and that's going to cost me $700 so I figured why not spend an extra $500 and get a set of $5000 rims sell mine and break even or make money but back to my main question what will be the problem when I install these I have no idea what offset does how will that affect the rims from not fitting when the bolt pattern will like exactly what will happen when they try to put them on im hoping he made a error in the offset just like he did with the tire brand we all know there's a huge difference between pierelle tires and general tires so hope he made a mistake I wouldn't really appreciated you taking time to answer all my questions
