xenon headlight insulation issues
So I opened the access port to change the parking light bulb under the high beam bulb, and noticed that the insulation on the wiring for both the high beam harness and the parking light has numerous cracks, some of the insulation crumbled off when I removed the parking light harness. I taped it with electrical tape, and am wondering, are all the electrical harnesses in the car degrading just like in the headlight assembly? I understand it's a high-heat environment but I rarely ever run my high beams. I am also seeing that a new Xenon headlight assembly is $800 at the cheapest. My car is a 2007 with 90,000 miles, it's in excellent condition and has been babied. Anyone else have issues with the headlight wiring?
