Hi, I am a first time owner of a MB car and this is my first post to mbworld. My car is a 2014 CLS550 4Matic with almost 40k miles. I need to take it in for it's 40k service in addition to other issues I'm having. There is an 'auxilliary battery malfunction' indicator light that never goes off, the climate control stopped working and outputs very hot temperatures making it too uncomfortable to drive in the warm weather we're having in the SF bay area.

Vehicle is still under warranty and my question is do I have to use a Mercedes Benz dealer to service the vehicle or can I take it to an independent service shop without voiding my warranty? I tried making an appointment at the Stevens Creek MB dealership in San Jose, CA but first available is May 10th. So now I'm reading in Yelp and other places that independent service shops are the way to go to service a benz. Please advise and would be happy for recommendations on where to get my car serviced somewhere on the peninsula within 15-20 miles from Palo Alto, CA.

IMHO take it to a MB dealer for warranty repairs (aux battery, climate control, etc.), 40,000 mile service can be performed by independent. BTW, you should be posting here: https://mbworld.org/forums/cls-coupe-c218-157/
