Can't get windows working?
I got a 2006 CLS500 recently and 3 of the 4 windows don't work, only the passenger front works. I took the switch from the passenger one and tried the 2 rear doors and neither worked with the known good switch so next I tested the window motors with a power probe, the windows all go up and down fine when power probed so the motor is fine, so I figure it must be the DCM, I tested and got good voltage to the DCM but no voltage out to the window motor when I press the switch. The door locks all work fine though. So I ordered 2 used "known working" DCM's off ebay and tried installing them but still the same issue, any ideas? I had read somewhere there was some software issue with the DCM's that required programming to get them to work again but not sure if it applied to the 219 chassis as the bulletin was for the 221.

Not certain if front passenger 2118219758 is compatible with rear switches they have different PIN count. Odd how three switches can go bad simultaneously but what about replacing driver & two rear switches, cheap enough used on ebay. Search driver master switch 2118213679, both rear 2118219958.

I just checked my switches, all my switches are 4 prong and they all have 4 wire connectors as well. I'm also waiting for a new drivers door switch, should be in soon.

Do part #s on your switches match those posted because I pulled them from my 06 CLS500 VIN that I no longer have. Anyway, hopefully replacing driver 'master' switch may resolve the problem.

My front passenger switch is 211 821 97 58 and both the rear switches are 211 821 86 51, all are 4 pin w/ 4 wire switches. I tested the switches and both will control the front passenger window. And when plugged into the rear passenger door both switches light up so they are getting power, just not sending power to the window motor for some reason.

Something is off here MBUSA EPC shows 8651 for 211 only, post your VIN.

Perhaps correct switches need to be installed.

Things to consider.
There is window switch reset holding each respective window to upper stop and hold switch for a second or two. Is sunroof working properly – switch on ignition move sunroof to front and rear stop and keep roof switch depressed for second or two. Also if you have not already done so you can try pulling fuses to all DCM simultaneously in an attempt to soft reset, or disconnect main battery for at least 15 minutes for hard reset. Interior fuse panel (dash): f21 = right rear door DCM f22 = right front f32 = left rear f33 = left front door |
Problem fixed, I replaced the driver multi switch and noticed the window lock was on, it must have been on when the switch died, so that blocked the rear 2 windows from being open, although I thought it was supposed to prevent all windows from being open. Anyway, unlocked it and now all windows work.
