New CLS
The cars just started to show up in my area (Houston) and I decided to take one for a test drive.
I was coming from an A7 and was blown away by this car.
My dealer had an Edition 1 and I decided to pull the trigger.
I will try and get some better pics this weekend if the weather holds up.

Just beautiful! I test drove a CLS 450 this afternoon with your salesman (he sold me my current GLE coupe) and enjoyed it. Power was just adequate for me - I was expecting more, but the power delivery is smoother than in my V6 bi-turbo. It also has a nice engine sound - was not expecting that. He has another 450 Edition 1 available that is very tempting. I can't wait to test drive a 53 when one is available

Awesome choice. I wish you could get multi contour seats with the E1, or I would do the same. It’s a very tempting car for sure.
Did you kease or buy and did you get a deal if you don’t mind my asking.

I’m purchasing and there wasn’t much wiggle room on the price, however I got more than a fair deal on my trade which made up for it.

it's a special edition that MB and other carmakers occasionally release at the beginning of the production of a new design. Often they have a unique paint and sometimes options not available otherwise. All edition 1's are optioned exactly the same. In this case, there is a 450 CLS edition one and a CLS 53 edition one. they are different (obviously), but same color, i believe.

both are shown in the Dealer Ordering Guide "DOG" available in one of the related posts in this section of the forums. but if you have seen one, you've seen them all. they are all identical. nice looking cars for sure

Congrats!
My wife and I recently bought a cardinal red 2019 CLS450 and the more I drive it, the more I love it. We were able to get the dealer to knock off almost $3k from msrp. It’s a gorgeous car and, sure, it’s not as powerful as our old CLS550 was but the design and tech is amazing and that straight six is very smooth. The fuel economy is much improved too. We’re taking the car up to Napa in June to do some wine tasting so it will be interesting to see how we like it on a long road trip, something our last CLS excelled at.
