DIY #2 : Foglights to HIDs + PIAA Xtreme White Driving Lights

After finding out that the foglight bulbs were H7 and not H11 as stated in the manual, I finally got the correct bulb for my HID kit to replace my current fogs. Also got the PIAA Xtreme White W5W bulbs from ebay to replace the yellowish driving lights.

All in all, a very successful day, pictures to follow. This is a fairly simple install, especially since you can do it without having to jack up the car, simply from the front of the car, by removing the foglight covers.

I used a generic 6000K HID kit, with capacitors pre-installed by the company that sold me the HID kit. They included a set of stealth (chromed) turning light bulbs (about $30), for a grand total of 170$ incl tax. This is with the capacitors that prevent the bulb out warning message.

The PIAA Xtreme White Wedge bulbs were about $15 shipped from ebay.

Step1: Simply remove the outer foglight covers

Step2: Remove the four torx screws that hold the foglight in place.

Step3: Remove the zip tie holding the rubber guard

Step4: Disconnect the wiring harness.

Step5: Remove the bulb

Step6: At this stage, you have to have some basic electrical know-how to connect or modify the wires to fit your HID Kit. I used the stock connector without splicing or damaging the OEM wiring so that I can always go back to Stock if I ever need to. Use the wiring diagram provided by the HID kit manufacturer to confirm all connections are proper.

The capacitor can be damaged if the polarities are reversed, so make sure!
Note: This is not a final connection, just to test I stuck em in there...

Step7: Test the components before putting everything back in.

Step8: Go backwards from Step5 to Step1.

I replaced the parking light bulbs, by simply reaching in through the top and twisting counter clockwise, then pulling hardddddd.

Final Results:-

Parking Lights on only:

Parking Lights + Headlights:

Parking Lights + Headlights + Foglights:

The stock HIDs do look a little off-white compared to the fogs, but I'm pretty happy the way they are cause I don't want to lose the light output of the headlights just yet. Once these bulbs die out, I might replace them with 6000K's.

Best of luck to everyone trying this, its worth the effort!!
