:::New MB owner, familiar car...:::
Hey Everyone, I've been a LONG time lurker here on MBWorld, but always been a fan. I've been a long time M owner newly moved over here to the Dark Side
I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone now that I have taken delivery of the car and gotten a chance to snap a few pics. Easy on the pictures as I'm not what you would call a good photographer nor a PS'er lol. I'm sure this car will already be familiar to you all.
Thanks again to my homie Big Mike. Keeping it in the TWC family.
I'll post up more pictures as I mess around more with photoshop

Now that you are all settled in your new ride, we need a comparison report between M & AMG
I can't make up my mind between the CL55/CL63 & M5! GGRR

I'll quote ya and post up a comparison IMO right after this one

I can try and get more details. Its exterior is basically the Brabus Rocket kit with some one off touches.

-Do you like tq? Do you like to feel the tq? the AMG you will feel the power and will always have it at the slightest tap of the food. The M is a highway monster and the true power doesn't really show unless you wind the car all the way up to the upper parts of the RPM band. However the tq might be too much if you are moreso a track oriented person. The M is by far in my opinion the car you need if you plan on being more of a track oriented person. If you are more of a person wanting a high performance car daily driving or just around town, the AMG is for you.
-Fuel efficiency I don't see much difference between the two. Its hard for me to compare b/c my AMG is much more performance modded than my M5 was. I only had simple bolt ons and it appeared to get worse gas milage than the 55. For an NA car I only got around 230-240 miles/tank on 93 oct with mixed city/hwy. The 55 is getting anywhere from 240-260 HOWEVER the gas tank on the 55 is larger. 16.5 approx for the M vs 17.x for the AMG. The M5 also runs on 8 cylinders as a default. You have to press the M button EVERY time if you wanna run 10 cyl. It gets old and annoying. I got to the point I really just stopped driving in 10 cyl mode.
-Transmission: Gotta love the ability to have a true sequential transmission and having 7 gears on the M5 you'll def need it. BUT IMHO SMGIII blows. The ONLY decent most exciting mode to drive is on S6, but you can only run S6 with DSC off. S5 is okay to drive on but there still is a bit of a lag between shifts during normal daily driving. It shifts poop tons slower than a Benz transmission, with the exception of shifting in S6 mode. At WOT and on S6 the shifts are strong and fast enough to push your sunroof cover back with each shift. The last big thing about the trans that drove me crazy was that the car defaults in S3, you have to click over the button to S5 EVERY TIME you start the car. Also don't even think about driving it in auto mode, it feels like the most awkward automatic you've ever driven.
Handling/Suspension: On the M5 I ran everything from stock to springs to KW V3 coils with front and rear sway bars. Hands down the BMW feels and handles above and beyond anything an airmatic can do. BUT it pays to play. Obviously the M was much more stiff and handled much better, but being able to raise and lower the 55 has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I no longer have to worry about speed bumps or getting down my driveway without scraping! For me, I gladly welcome a softer suspension for the ability to adj the height with the press of a button.
The bottom line is that you have to test drive all three cars. What is gonna suit you the best. Now between the 63 and the 55, what is better for you. Do you plan to mod the motor? If so how much. The 55 is boosted and that alone in a simple standpoint provides much more potential to gain power. With software and pulley you will gain much more power at the wheels than you would doing the same on a 63. BUT gearing makes up for a lot of that on the 63. It all depends on your flavor. NA or boost. Hope that info helps.

[quote=hp99hp;4434511]I don't have any issues with riding on 21's There is a little bit of rubbing on the fender liner but that might be because I have an aftermarket bumper? But I'm also used to riding on 21's as I've had them on my m5 before I got the CLS
what does the Bumper have to do with the rubbing...n r u talking about the Brabus.......

I had 21's before getting my 20's, and I experience no rubbing now, even when lowered. The 21's rubbed slightly and only when lowered. I felt rubbing mostly when the car went over a dip in the road.
