WHATS YOUR DAILY DRIVER ?

So been looking for replacing my DD. After helping a friend buy a 18 750i, I have to say I’m impressed with this car as a daily/highway cruiser. 750 changed in 16 and they sharpened the lines on an otherwise boring sedan. Car has a 4.4 biturbo that can be chipped to 540/600, that defeats a lot of the weight.

And they have have a cool autobahn package, with rear wheel steering that makes Car a lot more agile.

Looking to to buy a certified one at around 60k that stickered for about 110k. Thoughts. ? What do you drive?

my understanding is the values “tank” far worse than a Merc or any other car.

As you already know, see what a 1 and 2 year old similiarly configured goes for.

My daily is really lame it's a 2017 cla 250. I originally bout the amg GT thinking I could use it as a daily. After one week I went back to the dealer to buy the least expensive new car I could find to drive to the supermarket, etc.

I find I'm driving the cla250 way too much and need to upgrade it. I ordered a cla45 with every performance option. It should be here in 3 more weeks. It was 67k because I opted for amg dynamic pkg to get front lsd, race mode etc. the car also has performance exhaust and everything. Should do 0-60 in like 3.8 from the new tests I've seen.

For me its it's cheap enough where I won't worry about taking it anywhere but still fun.

See edit Jerry.

daily drove an RRS for about 5 years , I think it's my fav too.... I'll eventually go back to one.

This is my current DD. Rides better than my G63 and I dont worry about potholes or rough roads like in the GTS. I did underestimate the amount of attention it would get though and parking garages are not an option.

I've considered one of these because they hold value like crazy it seems.

One of my best friends has had a 7 series for his daily for nearly 20 years. He's probably had at least 12 of them. He says his 2017 750 is his favorite 7 ever. He hates leasing but started leasing these things because the do depreciate like crazy. I think he got his lease down pretty low like 1200 a month, but I could be mistaken on the number he said. His other cars are Porsche 911 and mclaren 570 GT, currently.

In the same boat.
leasing the GTR now but still in need of a daily driver.
Right now it's a 2008 LR3 that's in very good shape. Just had all 4 tires replaced and did a major on her. But gas consumption is ridiculous and I do have a good 50 mile compute.

My other car is 2010 GT3 that has low miles on it and wouldn't want to rack up miles on her.

I want something that will hold some value even with a lot of miles , good mpg, comfortable but safe, rough to take a 50 mile commute yet still has the IT factor eg E63s??

I drive a Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription to/from work which is about 44 miles round trip. Love it for that journey. Use Pilot Assist a bunch especially in stop/go traffic where it’s very useful. I ‘save’ the battery charge on the drive to work, then use it coming home when the traffic is normally worse. Get about 25 mpg there, and an equivalent of around 55 mpg coming back. It’s no RRS S/C but a 0-60 mph time of <5 secs ain’t bad. Just wouldn’t want to take it on a road course! lol

I had a 2016 e63s last year for a daily driver. It was an absolute beast. I think this car is the perfect for a daily driver in every way. However, the last body style was too stealth. It was easily mistaken for an e350. MB really got it right with the new model. The edition ones look very sick.

yeah the G class really does hold its value well. Production is about done so we will see how that works out over the next few years. They are built like tanks and one of the last rugged looking SUVs on the market. I'm hoping the new design of the g class fits in with all the minivan looking suvs and this model becomes the next defender.

The Range Rover sport and Mercedes g class are the perfect size to daily drive for me.

I drive a CTS-V wagon as my DD. The only care that I've owned that has appreciated in value.

Holy crap. A stock raptor is already wide as hell. With that stance, does that thing take up an entire lane or parking spot?

Mydaily is a BMW X5M with red guts.

Seems there are a lot of different DD styles here.

I might just just have to drive a Range Rover.....

perfect!! This is what I really wanted for my new DD but ended up going cla 45 only because I'm trying to get out of my MB lease 24 months early and with the deal my MB dealer can give me, it worked better.

Merc E350 Wagon as DD. Always been a 'sport wagon' guy. My favorite was a '99 BMW 528i 6-speed with full M-Sport package. In CT, the roads are so congested that it's perfect. Nothing more frustrating than taking out the GTS and sitting in traffic. The E350 is my chill pill.

Vic55 12-04-2017 11:40 AM

Both of my main daily drives... incredible GT car capabilities with OEM hp over 600 and AWD. But the luxury inside is an added feature as I can drive this cars for longer distances on freeways where the GTS/R8 dont really have an advantage. The usable power is on tap so quickly and in the rain I have not a worry :)

Sunny days I daily my GTS. Rainy days my 2014 X3. Love the X3 35i, spacious, nice full leather interior, sports package, great visibility and compact enough to park anywhere.
