Is anyone really going to track their GTR? Seems like no one is daily driving the car nor is anyone tracking it. Sounds like most are getting $200k GArage Queens.
im Curious . Where will the full benefits of the GTR be used if only street driving Then you'll realize your driving your other car, the boring car, too much. Then you should upgrade that to something cooler. Lol. I also do not think a GTR has to be driven on a track. I do not even enjoy track driving but I would own a GTR. |

That’s my point. So this is really a car that we will baby and not drive frequently?
Almost seems like a waste to have a super fast car yet reserve to drive it once in a while. Might as well have a practical car only and rent an exotic type car a couple of weekends a year. |
for the record, 2 out of the 4 GTR's we have sold have seen track time and Im betting the one we just ordered for a guy will see some decent drives...
I do agree that have a daily for routine grocery runs, bad weather is always a plus... sometimes you want to be lazy and not talk to people at gas stations when your sick or beat from work.. Worst ever was when I got a Nissan GTR in late 2008 and my Lotus Exige... you'd be sick, walk out of the grocery store and 10 people would be around the car and asking you 20 questions... flattering and cool, and all, but not all the time |
I don't want to rag on Cutter. I'll actually be so damn happy when he finally gets his car. I personally just do not like driving really expensive cars and parking them in between two minivans full of kids at the grocery store, the movie theater, etc. I always prefer to have at least one vehicle that I am not emotionally attached to, that way I can protect the other cars. |
I've got 4 track days on my GTR this year. It will probably see 10-15 next year.
Absolutely no concerns about using it or tracking it, cars are for driving. |

I’ll be driving mine a bunch next year and should attend at least 5 ‘track’ weekends. That’s why I bought the damn thing! lol

Who the F- cares what other owners are doing with their GTRs? Track it? Great. Daily drive it? Awesome. Save it for weekends. Whatever floats your boat. Some owners here have half a dozen exotics. It's not their fault they can't put more miles on each car. You've never owned a high end sports car so you're questions are rhetorical at best. I daily drive my GTS (as I did my GT3, Huracan, 458 Spider, California, Carrera S) but I have secure, covered parking at the hospital and have an SUV to drive to the beach, grocery shopping and movies. Two car system seems to work well for most. |

I'm not being an arrogant dick. You were already called it weeks ago by several members for your asanine comments and promised to go away but here you are back again like head lice.
Idiotic comments like this show how ignorant you are about exotic car ownership. Do you insult people who own fine art as being wasteful because they're not getting any practical use out of their paintings? Go back to your soccer mom SUV and enjoy saving your money renting exotics a couple times a year.

i Found nothing inflammatory nor insulting in my initial query . Why must you attack a member with hostility and arrogance? You are not the supreme authority on cars despite your Auto ownership pedigree . You certainly are not an authority on decorum and Manners. You did question why someone would want to own an exotic car if it's not being driven everyday. A lot of people on exotic cars that they don't drive every day. Seems to be kind of a silly thread to start on a forum where all the members actually own exotic cars. You are starting to sound like a troll that just wants to come out here and post weird things to get a reaction. |

You don't think it's insulting to label close to $200K cars as "garage queens" as if their owner is doing something wrong? Go back and look at your posts in the beginning of this thread and in other threads. If you actually "owned" one of these special cars, you more than likely would feel disrespected by one or more of your inane posts. I get it, you're a exotic noob who comes across as clueless. Or perhaps a reflection of your poor bedside manner. |
Sometimes a car enthusiast own so many exotic cars it is impossible to put significant mileage on any of them. I like having choices. I hate leftovers.
Some people value time over money. Have learned the journey is more important and more fun than the end. Does it matter? You clearly don't understand this hobby. I broke down 8 years ago and gave up on commercial flights. What I lost in significant money flying private, I gained in time. This now allows me to stare at my garage queens drinking my favorite single malt. It may sound stupid to you, but to me it's very valuable. Try not to lump everyone in categories. I track my cars ever chance I get and if one gets rolled in a ball, so be it. My wife will drive my cars to Costco/ Grocery store but I asked her to stop because then she would call me to come pick up what she couldn't fit in the car. I have a picture somewhere with the front seat of my Ford GT with cases of water and bags of fruits all over. I have plenty of daily drivers, but sometimes you feel like something special. She didn't stop.... |
