GT R running in period

Hello AMG fans,

i am the lucky, very proud and extremely excited new owner of this incredible machine but I have 2 important questions before sharing pictures of my ride 😊😊

i already did about 900 miles in 2 days and getting close to the end of the runing period ...but should I change oil or not after the 1500km / 1000 first miles or not ??

on all my AMG cars I always did it but never understood if it was a requirement by MB / AMG or not?

what do you guys advise?

Your car will tell u when your service is due. I dont know why MBenz does not want the oil changed after run in period most every other car i ve owned does want the oil changed after breakin and some guys will still change there oil after the run in even though its not required.

Did mine at 5K miles for peace of mind. If they really thought it needed it - they would recommend it. After all, they are the manufacturer. However, my opinion is 10K miles seems rather long. I believe the sweet spot for the first oil change would be somewhere between 3-5k miles.

Agreed. Did mine at 3500 and 7000. Oil was dark at 7k so I felt better changing out.
