I've never done this kind of event before but was just wondering if you bring your car there can they detail it for you if you pay them or is this strictly about learning how to clean and apply their stuff?

You detail your own car. Sometimes others will help you. Mike will teach you some techniques and you can use all the products Meguiar's has.
And you usually get a pretty nice goody bag with their products.

Would any of you guys be interersted in going together? Let me know okies? I want to learn how to properly detail lmy car, but I've mostly been paying someone to do it for me, but it would be nice to learn how to do it on my own.

the detail days are really fun. i went once during a bmw day because mike wanted to see if the nxt all metal polish would cure my rims which were killed by another cleaner. he teaches you what causes paint imperfections and how to cure them. If you want to work on your car, make sure you wash it before hand. Very fun and lots of learning. he has about every product that you need. i wonder if he has that new room open and done yet.

aw man, Id love to go, but we have an open house tomorrow and I need to help clean up and then meet my little sister in Disneyland for her birthday.
