Menzerna Experience?
 

Looking for some feedback on Menzerna compounds, polish and DAS ScratchBuster™ Foam Polishing Pad or CS Technology Foam Pads

Planning on wetsanding 2000 my white '08 C class to get rid of that horrendous orange peel.

At one time I was a prof auto painter but have never worked with the new MB clear or Menzerna product.

Menzerna products claim to work very well with MB clears.

Menzena polishes - These products were specifically formulated to polish out any defects found on Nanotechnology ceramic clear coats, along with a high speed rotary polisher on the OEM production line of vehicle manufacturing plants, using high speed rotary polisher’s utilizing friction to break-down the diminishing abrasives, while in the controlled temperature / humidity environment (working temp range 60 – 80.oF (15-26.oC) of a vehicle manufacturer’s paint shop finishing line.

CCS Foam Pads - patent pending, Collapsed Cell Structure (CCS) Technology™, from Raisins Schaumstoffe, Gmbh., Germany developed for and used by Mercedes-Benz These pads are manufactured from thermally reticulated, urethane foam with an open cell structure, with a layer of engineered, instant rebound foam between the pad and the backing plate to absorb off-axis movements while keeping the pressure of the pad on the surface constant.

The newer, harder, scratch-resistant clear coats require longer polishing times to remove swirls, spots and defects improves polish performance by slowing and controlling the rate of polish absorption. Quality foam pads used for detailing are manufactured from specially engineered European foam, a blend of thermal reticulated polyurethane with a 90% open cell structure, created specifically for compounding, polishing and finishing vehicle surface paints. I'm sure you already know this but I figured I would put this in anyway, make sure you have a paint meter when you go to wetsand or make sure you realize that your going to take some clear off and if you do so the compounding and polishing will as well. this will definitely put you at risk for removing too much and possibly burning thru the clear. just about every car has orange peel on it now its just a characteristic from how new "green" paints are.

What are paint meter? And how they are used?

Paint meters are used to measure the amount of paint you have on the car.

this meter will give you a better estimate of how much paint you can remove when you compound and polish your car.

as well most dealers and car wholesalers use it to see if your car has been repainted.

Thanks for all the info. Did 2000 wet-sand and had my guys polish with the Menzena products and it came out perfect.

Material thickness was not a problem but 20000 cuts clear fast so must be very careful if trying this at home:)
