Here is what a full 10 hour detail does to an SL55
I met the owner of this vehicle, a black SL55. He had it delivered from the dealership swirled and scratched up from their prep guys. He searched all over new england for a quality detailer, but could not find one. So he found me and I was very willing to help him out. What I did was wash his car, dry it, Go over it with the porter cable buffer and a yellow pad with meguiars DACP to get out all the deep swirls and scratches (left by the dealer prep and the other inexperienced "detailers" that touched the car), Meguiars #9 2.0 swirl remover with a white pad to leave a smooth finish and get out the fine scratches DACP leaves behind, and then i finished off with S100 Shine enhancing polish with another white pad to really bring out the gloss and completely remove any haze left over. After that I topped it with a coat of pinnacle souveran wax. Here is a before shot of the vehicle under a bright shop light(the ones you find at gas stations, sodium halide or something?).

Thumbs up on the deatail!
AlBoston, great job! I am looking forward to using some of the tips provided in this forum to detail my Benz. It's silver so it hides a lot of imperfections but I still want to make it look like glass like you did on the SL. Thanks for the pics, beautiful car!
