My car has 83000 commuter miles on it and though the paint still looks fantastic the windshield does not. There are many light "chips" and a few heavier chunks in it. No cracks though. Can this windscreen be polished somehow?

Polishing will most likely remove the smaller dings but not the deeper ones.
To completely remove all the imperfections windscreen replacement will be required.
