Soap that’s safe for black exterior trims.
I just learned that our exterior black trims, like the ones around the windows, are susceptible to discolouration by soap that’s too harsh.
Does anyone have a true understanding of this and can recommend what to avoid (and possibly what to use)?

I have always been a big fan of Meguiars products and we have been using their professional products since we bought my wife’s GLk 3 years ago. The “shampoo” or wash soap hasn’t led to any discoloration or fading. We use a foam gun and inundate the car with soap when washing.

I use Adams Polishes Car Shampoo on my vehicles and others that I detail with no issues. My fiancé' has a black ML 350 and it causes no harm.
