Can my windshield scuff be fixed?

Hi Everyone,

first time posting and new Mercedes owner. Unfortunately this happened today and a black scuff is right in my driver line of sight.

Looking for your advice and thoughts on if this could be fixed or is a full replacement the only way.

Appreciate your time and thoughts in advance!

What is a "scuff"?

Try Sprayway glass cleaner. Available at your nearest auto parts retail store. Spray it on a microfiber cloth, then wipe the mark. Does it help? If yes, repeat the process until it is gone.

If by "scuff" you mean "scratch", a specialist glass repair service is a better option.

Looks like a black mark and a couple of small chips.

Try a cloth moistened with a solvent like carb cleaner or finger nail polish remover to see if the black can be removed. The chips, if that's what they are, look to deep to be polished out.

Like said, if you can remove the scuff mark with carb cleaner/acetone/whatever then for the chip most glass companies can fill a small chip/crack pefectly and unnoticeable.
