81 300sd over heating

I have a 81 300sd overheating, it will cool down if I set fan to medium or slow speed with temp cranked to max.

What is the best way to clean or flush out rad? I tried rad flush, it didn't do any thing.

I have even tried to hook up the rad hose backward with an extra set of these hose bought from someone parting out a w123 300d. It failed miserably as it over heats so fast worse than my orig setup. Any similar experience?
