I am wondering if anyone has done some simple improvements on their NA OM617 diesel engine.

I have already read several forums saying that slapping the turbo on an NA engine is already very destructive, as it can destroy the pistons, crankshaft etc etc. And a lot of things have to be changed including transmission and electricals. In other words better to swap the whole engine instead.

Has anyone tried simple enhancements like a mild and psi turbo? Nothing as high pressure as the turbo version. Air intake upgrade? Something mild that does not compromise so much the longevity.
