E300d won't start

Is it possible for a vacuum line problem to be the cause of a no-start situation?

Is the throttle mechanism vacuum controlled in my 97 E300d? I see that there is a throttle mechanism that enters the injection pump.

Sounds like you have a modified vehicle with the possibility of some connections or adjustments being off.
Therefore it is impossible for a forum reader to make a good diagnosis. :smash:
So I suggest you get a good diesel mechanic, preferably but not neccessarily with MB experience, to check the car and diagnose the problem. He may fix it but more important he can tell you what to fix.

And if he tells you to ditch the veggie, take his advice!

i really don't understand the resistance to alternative fuels. The diesel mercedes and VW's have a long track record of reliable operation with wvo and biodiesel.
any damage caused to the fuel line, whether real or imagined, is easily offset financially by the significant amount of money saved by using cheap or free veggie fuel. Not to mention the fact that by using veggie fuel, a driver can forgo using petroleum based fuels, which are expensive, and very bad for the environment.

I intend to continue using my veggie system. As a DIYer, I would really appreciate some useful, direct answers to my questions, rather than the sarcastic, closed minded responses I've been getting....

thanks

I am sorry if you think I am sarcastic and closed minded.

My comments come from seeing those frustrated drivers on the side of a track, sometimes just to do adjustments, sometimes waiting for the tilt tray.

The costs involved are not just monetary, but also the heartbreak and the angst of the lady friends and children.

But if you are happy with the conversion, then please enjoy!

a. Yes- vacuum from ignition switch to fuel shutoff on IP. Leak or cracked fitting could cause no fuel delivery.

b. No. Throttle is linkage only in nonturbo 606.

arturo, I just noticed all your posts. You need to buy the FSM for your 606, or find it online.
