No acceleration on GL350... check engine light on
check engine light is on.... RPM only goes to 2k
I have a 2010 Mercedes Diesel GL350 SUV and just had the Turbo Charger replaced from an oil leak. Now it is having an acceleration problem. Every now and then it cannot accelerate in the lower gears, but just stays in the higher gears. Then restarting engine it goes back to normal. Even better than normal. It goes over 4000 RPMin every gear. The mechanic doesn't know whats wrong with it and resetted the light and now came back again...

The check engine light comes on when this happens. Thanks, Rob

Firstly did you get old turbo back, I will happily give you a little cash and send us shipper data. Second...does motor make full power? Mechanic needs to reset trans ecu at minimum to relearn motor/driving style. If you have icarsoft you can do at home. Third...could be something left unugged.

I don't have it but I'm going to get it tomorrow. It takes time to get to full power even if you push the accelerator all the way down.
I don't know anything about engines, but if you kindly explain and elaborate further what could be left unplugged??
Thank you so much for your help!

Just in case anyone is wondering andbit might seem a valid question I rebuild turbines hturbochargers and jet engines as a seldom have time but fun when I d free-time hobby. I’ve got turbos in my office from 26mm compressor wheels to a wheel off of a 345mm Aviation motor...4 jet engines and one liquid fueled rocket motor...if it burns fuel I usually dig finding out how it works and is put together. It’s a sickness I’m pretty sure lol. A recent turbo acquisition is a 1200 bhp ETHANOL fueled turbo from an older Cosworth Indy Car...it is freaking HUGE
