I smog it 2 months ago just before DPF delete, so have 10 months.
From all the reviews, the sniff test doesn't check particles. so the car should pass. The only difference I see after delete is that smog readiness shows DPF "not applicable" so in states they plug scanners that might create issue, but they don't plug Nevada.

Wasnt aware are that was out there for these. Tell me more. I suspect these engines will run forever without egr, dpf and def.

my state is sniffer free.
More and more of us on the site are doing the DPF/DEF/EGR delete. I did mine back in November after losing my DEF and EGR under warranty, which expired in September.

do you think I'll pass smog test in CA if I did DPF/DEF/EGR delete? Is CA more stringent? I went to my first test but they didn't even stick a little tube in the exhaust.......

2014 E250
My 2014 E250 runs great. I hope keeping filters and oil fresh and clean I can get a lot of miles out of the car and push emission issues way down the road.

Watching my Scangauge I can see my car just did a regen cycle. Once scangauge showed 100% monitoring the DPF, the car started a regen that lasted about 12 min. Oil temp went up about 6 degrees during regen. DPF dropped back to zero, and oil temp dropped as soon as regen turned off. Over the last few weeks using the scangauge I noticed very short regen cycles as I drove up hills. These short regens never seemed to do much.

CA plug-in OBD scanners, but don't do any sniff tests on diesels.
Would technician notice the scanner showing DPF as "not applicable" that might be good question.
They also should do visual check for EGR and DPF delete, but when I was smogging diesels in CA the young guys had no clue what they are looking at.
Now in Nevada we have annual sniff tests on the rolls, but they don't plug OBD.
Would you think those states are in different countries?

I see. it says N/A on the DPF status on the scanner......... Hmmm I wonder if someone else on the forum residing in CA has them deleted also.

Sooty tail pipe sounds like cracked DPF to me. Beauty of diesel used to be simplicity, torque, and economy. Only torque remains.

just following up here. The other day, I got CEL with the following codes P2A0086 and P24AFFA. Dealer said internal electrical fault in soot particulate sensor and replaced the soot particulate sensor. No CEL today. Hope this isn't the beginning of something more sinister........

soot particulate sensor?
All I hear is that the soot level is calculated form measuring pressure differential
Small sensor on top of DPF

Looks like what is sold as Nox sensor for some models is sold as soot sensor for others.
Either way, there is no sensor who would actively measure soot level. It is all calculated from other parameters.
