Oil Change 1998 e300td

Is there a reset that needs to be done after oil and filter change i keep getting
a low level warning at times. I know i put 8.5 qts in there and it reads normal on dip stick.

My Oil level sensor is not exactly what would call precise...06 CDI but 8.0 liters is slightly too much, 7.0 slightly too little. I trust dipstick more and live with occasional overfilled warning and use 8.0 liters in it.

Those sensors are oversensitive and I have to keep the level close to max to avoid warnings.

In my cars commuter role of 85-100 miles a day my oil temp gets plenty high even in winter to boil out impurity and blowby products. That said I use Mobil 1 5w40 in Benz specification, change filters every 5k and oil 10-15k. My car has 223k miles now. Oil consumption in 15k miles is less than 400ml. I’ve seen this rate or less for last 160k miles. So when I change oil I usually do 8 liters, on warm days red overfill warning comes on 7-9 miles of highway after startup, on cold days 16-23 miles. My current oil has been in for 10k miles and overfilled warning has only extended 2 miles of highway use. The sensor is not stupid accurate as stated, but this is a handy way for me to watch for consumption at my higher mileage. Just my thoughts?
