GLK DPF Removal and Installation Procedure
 

My CEL is on and the code is for the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). I've located a local company in Orange County, CA that can clean the DPF. I'm looking for either a step by step procedure or video to R & I the filter. Thanks in advance. Dan

You are telling us only end of the story, but I still think you should give a try forced regeneration using scanner.
I had my DPF send for ultrasonic cleaning and it was judged with mechanical defect, that can't be fixed.
Removal on my E250 BT was pretty simple. only 2 or 3 bolts holding it on the top, another 2 at the bottom and easy clamps.
First time I spend time disconnecting pressure sensor hoses on its back, but later found that they go to differential sensor hiden behind the bracket and unbolting the sensor was much easier to pull DPF with hoses attached.

I did it with iCarsof MBII.
A bit annoying procedure as scanner wants you keep high rpm and speed below 50 kph. Process took +- 10 miles on back road.
I was downshifting with wheel paddles, but my E at steady speed will switch to auto every 15 seconds, so it was constant shifting back and forth.
Than scanner doesn't have auto refresh, so I had to reset it every couple of minutes to see the progress.
Don't know if GLK has the same deal with shifting.

I have a Foxwell NT630 Automotive OBD2 Scanner ABS SRS SAS Airbag Reset Diagnostic Tool. Do you know if the procedure can be performed with it? Thanks Dan

ICarsoft has generic DPF regeneration in program, that works on my 2014 car even the scanner does not support my MY.
Its been few months since I used it, but from what I remember, you click on MB menu and that will give you like 6 functions, where one of them is DPF regeneration.
Scanner has small screen, where text scroll very slowly, so good idea to test it at home and even take notes, so you don't have to wait for full message to show when you do actuall test.
Once the soot level comes to 0 scanner proms you to idle a bit for system cooling and then gives you permission to shut the engine off.
Than again, we are working the problem from back door.
Since I had the bad DPF experience -ScanGauge made Xgauges that monitor DPF status and soot. Now when I see soot closing on 100%, I keep it in mind planning trip and when regeneration starts, I turn ECO off and take extra loop to bring % down to 0 before I turn the engine off.
Takes less than 10 miles in city driving and so far had no chance to test it on freeway.
My DPF stays healthy period.

So I have a scanner and can place the system into a regeneration. My question now is when I monitor input, output temps and DPF Percentage in the live data section what should the expected figures be?. I'm particularly interested in the percentage figure. Thanks, Dan C

My scanner was telling me when regeneration was completed and gave me cool down time.
I had impression that is is not updating the process, so was switching the data every couple of minutes, but maybe I overreacted?

Hi everyone
My first post. Lucky me with a DPF issue. I notice some of you have been able to put your GLKs into manual DPF regeneration. Can you let me know what scanner you have used. I have a 2015 GLK 250. I bought a Creader 1098 but the forced regen is not supported on that car. I wanted an icarsoft V2.0 but the manufacturer tells me that forced regen on my car is not supported either.
Any advice on what scanner to get to get this thing into forced regen would be amazing. I dont want to go to the dealer to wave bye bye to money.
