Cab e550 "V8 Bi Turbo" Badging?
Wondering what folks feelings might be about putting a badge that reads "V8 BiTurbo" on the front fenders of a E550 cab off of a ClS AMG. Not unrtue just a little strange being there. Comments welcome and encouraged.

There's nothing wrong if it got "Bi-Turbo". The 1st years model E550 are not bi-turbo, right? Don't do it if it not.

I spoke to the salesman I always use from my local dealer as the new 4.7l V8 has finally been announced here and he said that there may well be the V8 Bi-turbo badging on the side of the new E550/500 but hasn't seen one yet as no one has ordered one! (think that was a hint to me but the price hike is crazy, could get a good spec C63 Coupe PPP for the price of the new 4.7l E500 cabrio here).
Some people will probably have a moan about it, I'm not so hot on badging up a car as something it's not - e.g. an E200 badged up as an E500 AMG (yes you do get people over here that do that)... On an E550 it's a bit different though, I think it will look good and it's not as if the E550 is slow anyway Get the secondary cats removed and a performance exhaust, remap... it'll sound the part and probably be a similar output to the new 4.7l V8 too.

Munchen,
Have seen only the E350's here. They do have the funny "blue efficiency" badge on them. As my E550A will have the V8 biturbo it would be nice if they did use that badge on it. My car is an Oct. build and maybe see it end of Nov. First out of my dealership. The OE badging is normally easy to remove, dental floss, so making a change if I so decide wouldn't be a big deal. Going to be interesting to see how it compares to my S63. This new motor has lots-o -torque starting at a low rpm.

E550s will not have a "biturbo" badge from the factory (it will have BLUE EFFICIENCY badging), but I fully support the V8 biturbo badge addition. As long as it doesn't say AMG.

I agree with the badging. Same twin turbo V8 as the CLS550. So why not? I know for a fact if I do go for a E550 coupe, those idiotic "blue efficiency" are coming off and the BiTurbo badges going on !

Had them installed today as well as clear side markers and if I do say so myself they really look good. Do not look out of place at all. No question this was, for me, the right way to go. Will get pics maybe tomorrow.

Very nice! Much better than "Blue Efficiency"and more appropriate for the E550.
Did you get the clear lenses online?
Your vehicle looks outstanding.
Thanks for the photos.

The side markers came from Ebay. Apologise for the filthy car but it is as delivered on the truck. It'll go to the detail shop after I get the HRE's put on and is ready for delivery, probably next Tues. or Wed. Hope the snow holds off till after then.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but any input on the new 550? Mine should be here in the next few weeks. I'm anxious to hear how the new twin-turbo feels in the E Class.
