Have had our new E550 Cab for a month now. I haven't driven the car much, as it seems my wife and the car seem to disappear at the same time. I noticed that it seems to produce an incredible amount of heat under the hood, which makes sense when you consider the turbo set up, V8, etc. However, the front quarter panels are HOT! Not motorcycle exhaust hot, but too hot to leave your hand against the panel.

Has anyone run into issues with this?

By the way, love the car. Its a replacement for an older CLK500 I sold 2 years ago and my wife has been in a bad mood since. The new ragtop seems to have improved her attitude immensely!

I have had mine for three months and noticed the same issue - just like my old 996 turbo, except it was the rear fenders that were too hot to touch. Just the turbo/intercoolers cooking off the heat. But I like the power they generate!!!
