Air conditioning (A/C) problem
 

Hi,

I have just noticed today that my AC isn't operating properly. It is set to 'LOW' on both the driver and passenger side, but is blowing warm/hot air on the driver's side and cool air on the passenger side and rear. After doing a bit of searching, it looks like the most common cause is low refrigerant or issues with the duovalve (other forums and different models). Is there a DIY for the 2011 E550 A/C recharge? Is there a specific product or brand I should use?

Looks like 590g is the filling capacity of the refrigerant, but I'm guessing that's from an entire system flush. This is looking to be much more involved than I originally thought lol. I was just thinking I could refill it with r134a or AC PRO via the low pressure port

Hopefully recharging the system works for you, but my sedan recently had this issue. The problem ended up being a hose had failed somewhere (I don't know much about the location of all the components and hoses), so the cold air wasn't getting to the passenger side.

Ok, so AC Pro got delivered. I went ahead and refilled it, and while it definitely cooled the driver's side down, it's not as cold as the passenger side, BUT, it does seem the entire system has gotten colder. Before the recharge, the passenger side was cool/coldish and the driver's side was warm. Now after the charge, the passenger side is very cold and the driver's side is cool.

One thing that is not very good about the AC Pro, is that the needle didn't seem to move as I was charging, so I didn't charge for very long for fear of overcharging the system. Still though, it definitely DID help.
