How's the aftermarket for the E coupe?

I'm in the market for an E400 or E550 coupe. I'm hoping to pick up a 2017 once prices drop to make room for the 2018 models. Just wondering how the aftermarket scene is on these cars. I'd be looking to lower the suspension and update the exhaust to something more aggressive. I've done some internet searches, but can't seem to come up with too many options.

Thx in advance

I have aftermarket springs. I'm not sure if they make full coilovers. I think they might though. As far as exhaust, I think all you'll want to do is a resonator delete on the 550, but there are some aftermarket ones out there as well. I couldn't tell you what without an internet search of my own.

But to answer your general question, I don't think there are tons of aftermarket options for the coupe, especially the facelifted one.

I appreciate the info. Any worthwhile tuning potential for the 400 or 550?

A few good tunes out there. Eurocharged, Renntech, OE tuning, etc. I have the OE tuning one for the bi turbo 550. M278 is the engine designation I believe. Most tunes on this engine yield pretty hefty returns. Seems like a tune is the best bang for the buck on our cars.

Definitely agree!

Simple Stage 1 OE Tuning dyno on M278:

No issues and still puts a smile on my face .
