am i missing my brake calipers

hi, weird question but I was cleaning the car realizes i have brake calipers *cover( not sure what is called) in the from with Mercedez name on it and in the back,
there is nothing i attached the pictured for it, is it how they come from the factory or dealership messed up and forgot to put them back - 2016 e550
should the front and the rear have the same cover or no ?

I forgot to add that those are indeed rear calipers you are looking at. The front calipers are much larger than the rears.

Nope, you are good. That's how they are supposed to be.

I'm not expert on this (or any) subject, haha. The best answer I have is that the front brakes are what I think are considered a BBK (big brake kit), so you have the larger rotors and calipers for the stopping power in the front. The rears, not so much. Just regular sized rotors and calipers.

Your rear brake looks like it has been dismantled, something is missing. What's holding the brakes pads in place? Are you sure your rear brakes are working? Take it to the dealer let them have a look at it. I have never seen any brakes like that and I have done a lot of brake jobs in my life.

Have to disagree

I just did the front and rear brakes on my 2012 E550 and the picture is accurate. Nothing is missing. The anti-squeal spring is in place on the outside, I can see the caliper and the caliper retaining bracket and the pads . The is nothing missing. The rear brakes are not “ done up nicely” like the fronts .
