One touch Cabrio upgrade
Had this installed last week on my '13 Cabrio and I am thrilled with the results. Should have been standard, but that's another discussion.

I installed it myself the first week I got my car. Had it on my previous CLK too. Couldn't imagine not having it. Highly recommend.

You are right, this functionality should be standard. I find the remote activation the most useful element, especially when I have rear passengers as it means they can just stand up to get out and I don't have to wait for them to then be able to close the roof. Just do it remotely when everyone is out.
Dead easy to fit, takes about 20-30 minutes all in with no special tools required. Pretty much anyone can do it.

Don't get mad at me but did you check your manual. I have a 2014 Cab. and all you do is: if you are locking the car you just continue to hold the lock bottom down on the key fob down. Same was unlocking and opening the roof

Function doesn't exist on the pre facelift models, it took a while as always for Mercedes to keep up with the basics of what everyone else was doing 10 years before.

Pre-facelift cars didn't have this. 2013 cars can be pre-post facelift as it was the change year. Mine is a 2013, but pre-facelift and I can assure you it does not have this functionality natively, SmartTop adds this functionality.

Thanks for answering that. It's good to know so many MB owners have intimate knowledge of ours cars. You seem to know these years. Maybe you can help me. I posted a question last week with no response. My question was. Can I swap out 2014 E350 cab. Headlight assembly with an 2016 E 350 cab. assembly? Same body style so I know it will fit correctly. My question really is. Will the wire harness be correct? The pins in the plugs or the plugs themselves? Any ideas or how I can check. As you know MB is no help at all if it is not your year or Vin. I am brand new at the website just trying to navigate around it.
Thank you in advance

MB still uses that stupid IR sensor on the door and transmitter on the key. getting them perfectly lined up, especially in the bright afternoon sun is almost impossible. where as the "Smarttop" system is using the RF signal. even though the 2013 E350 cab that we are buying my wife this weekend will do it, it is hit or miss so we will still be getting the "Smarttop" solution. her R170 SLK has one and even though that one was a pain to install, would do it again 11/10. The A207 system looks so much easier to install. My favorite feature is being able to raise or lower while on the move. You can start putting the top up while pulling into a parking space, or while backing out. With the "tin" roof SLK without smarttop, you had to sit there and wait fully stopped.

I have a 2014 E 350Cab. Can anyone tell me if the smart top will allow the aircap to stay up when driving under 25mph? I hate that it goes down under 25mph or when stopped. I know the newer models have the ability to stay up.

I have a 2012 E550 and I can raise or lower the top with the fob if within a few feet from the door. I can also drive while the top is in motion. What I want to know, since I have rain sensing wipers why can't someone design a system that automatically raises the top when it starts raining. Then I would not have to keep checking the weather app on my phone while I am in a store or restaurant. Seems like such and easy and simple thing.

One touch upgrade (cabriolet)
Can anyone tell me. With this upgrade can you have the wind shield stay up at any speed? I have a 2014 Cab and it goes down when you stop and then back up at around 25mph. I know later models you can have it stay up.
