My drivers side door window has started to rattle once and a while. The sound it is making is definitely a rattle and it looks like it may be moving slightly back and forth when I close the door. Any ideas what might be wrong.

It looks like there is something called a door glass retainer on the coupe and cabriolet. It appears to be above the exterior door handle. I can't really find what it does. Has anyone ever replaced this? Any ideas what would happen if it broke?

thanks for the info. It looks like there is something that is called a crank window mount, which looks like the door glass retainer I have pictured above. It looks like from the pics, this is actually what lifts the window. Anyway, I was hoping to get an idea before I started pulling the door apart. It's always nice to have the potential parts on hand when dismantling a car. I will probably have to just pull it apart and see. Thanks.
