What kind of MPG are you getting on new 2019?
Really pleased with my E450 Cabriolet in terms of gas mileage. So far, I've been getting fantastic mileage on this car in ECO mode. Been averaging around 32 MPG on recent trips. Wondering how this compares with others on this forum.?

I have MY '18 E 400 cab. Usually getting mid twenties around town and low thirties highway. (not exactly at posted speed limits). I see this as excellent MPG performance given the capabilities of the car. I then compare MPG to my G 550....well, that's another story. It makes the E look like a super MPG performer. Everythings relative I guess.

E53: Up to 23.5 / E Modus long distance, down to 12-14.5 in S+ (I call it standard plus :rolf:) But I have just 1k miles on it.

Interesting, I would have thought he 48v in the e53 would give you extra power without using extra gas. I'd expect the mileage to somewhat the same between the E450 versus E53....really a dip in S+ mode; but I guess that is to be expected. |
Well, in S+ I'm driving more reckless. 12-14.5 is ok for that. The E53 has 435 + 22 PS (320 + 16 kW; 429 + 22 bhp) vs. the E450 367 PS (270 kW; 362 bhp) ...68Hp more, need some more drinks.

I thought about getting a E53 but then test drove the E450 and said nope that's enough power for me and here I was coming from a E63 AMG. I guess I'm getting old, lol. Rusty you must have just the RWD Cabriolet to be getting that kind of mileage. Mine is the RWD also and it seems like I get around 29 or so on the highway, but thats around 75 mph, I guess if I went like 65 maybe I'd be around were you are in MPG. I really prefer the feel of RWD to AWD in the handling dept, but thats just me, some people like the AWD handling better.

Yes, I have the RWD. I'm not going to drive the Cabriolet in the winter, so had no need for AWD and the added weight. I like the handling characteristics of a RWD a little better than AWD ( I've had both over the years). Plus I save a couple grand. 27 MPG is nothing to sneeze at especially at an average of 75 MPH. For a car the size and HP of the E450 mark me as impressed.

I get about 43 (Imperial) mpg in the diesel version and that is combined mileage with very spirited driving. Much quicker and more economical than the 5 series I had before...�� |
How are you people getting these mpg's!?!?! on E mode and driving on the highway I cant even get past 22mpg, avg over the past 3k is 20mpg. I mostly drive on the highway too. This is a E450

I've averaged 27.2mpg since I got the car. It's an E450 Coupe 4matic. I've only driven it in comfort mode and am still running it in.

Around town (and by that I mean running 2.5M to the grocery store, Costco, kids’ school, etc over and over) I am only getting about 16 MPG. This includes sitting in the school drop off line for 15 min with the engine running and ALWAYS with auto start/stop mode disabled (hate it). That’s in E mode. On on the freeway, if I do a manual reset when I’m on the on-ramp (I.e. no mixed driving) I get about 27-28 MPG in E mode. I wish it it was higher, but I got pretty much the exact same mileage on my E450 Cab’s predecessor, a 2013 Escape Titanium.... with the exception that the Escape was a non-turbo 4 Cyl and this car is a biturbo 6 Cyl. Not to mention the Escape was ~3000 lbs where this car is ~4300 lbs. So in reality, circular reasoning, the E450 gets way better mileage than my last car 😬 |

Pretty good, just drove from Houston to Santa Fe with and average of 25mpg on a 2017 E43....effortless and quiet.

Yep this is what I regularly get on the highway. Around town 19 in sport plus mode.
