1968 220D 4 sp linkage jamming
Hello, I'm a new owner and have been trying to find out what replacement parts I need and maybe a link to a repair thread. The linkage locks up and I have been crawling under the car to pop the gear shift free. It gets stuck usually in 3 or 4. There is a lot of play in the shifter and believe the bushings are toast. VIN is 10006359 if that helps. Thanks

I have had the same issue. I have replaced the bushings at the end of the rods, and adjusted the rods. It seemed to help, but then it happened again. I then tried to shim the plates at the bottom of the shift lever (I have a floor shifter) as they seemed sloppy. I have not had the problem since, but it did not happen that often previously, so I cannot be sure.
