1982 Mercedes Benz 300D 4 dr sedan
FS: 1982 Mercedes 300D
Life has taken a new direction and I need to sell my 300D. I figured I ask here first if anyone enthusiast is interested before posting it on local classifieds. I am moving to China for work in a few months time and do not want this car sitting for years together.
Car has 231K miles on it. Was originally in TN, then moved to KY and then finally to MI. Car was never driven in rain or snow by myself or the PO. In winter, the car was always stored. I have about $7000 worth in receipts for the work done on the car in the past 3 yearsish. Vehicle is located in Metro Detroit area.
Known faults:
1. Cruise control doesnt work.
2. Passenger side window wont roll up or down - can hear it click in the door.
3. AC didnt work since I bought - have a belt to throw on if you would like to try.
4. Mild trans seep - always kept an eye on it and maintained level.
6. LH axle boot is cracked.
7. There is a rust bubble over the passenger side rear wheel.
Good about the car:
1. Wayyyy more solid than the stuff I checked on CL before I purchased this car.
2. New brake system all the way around (rotors, pads, line, master cylider, calipers)
3. New PS system (pump and lines)
4. Reman OEM alternator.
5. All lights and such work. Aircon blower works as well.
6. Newer rear light panels.
7. Seats in near perfect condition (drivers seat back has 1 rip - seam itself still intact).
9. Rest of the interior is also pretty good with little sun wear.
10. Original floor and trunk carpeting.
11. Birdgestone tires in great condition with 80% tread remaining (4 on the wheels + 1 spare + 1 spare rim I found at JY in good condition but needs tire replaced).
12. All 5 rims were sandblasted and repainted to match the body.
13. New washer fluid nozzles and lines. Reconditioned wiper motor.
14. Newer wiper blades.
15. Aftermarket radio (Sony if I recollect correctly) with aux input and Polk DB speakers on 4 corners.
16. OEM block heater installed.
17. Newer idler arm.
18. New Gold battery from AA Spring within the last year - 3 yr warranty.
19. New passenger side engine mount.
20. New guibo joints/flex discs.
21. New flex pipe.
22. Very little blowby - no smoke with engine running from the oil cap and if I loosen the cap - it just sits there. Does NOT get blow off or lifted.
Otherwise a solid car, needs few minor DIY fixes listed above. Asking $2500 or OBO. Let me know if you are interested. There might something I might have missed - let me know...trying to give an honest assessment of the car.
