New member show off my 300TD

Hi, first post, and I thought I would show off my 85' 300TD that I restored this spring and summer. I picked it up last winter local to me from a woman who moved to western NY from TX. First cold day it would not start, so for some reason she thought it was the transmission. What it needed was four glow plugs! She let it sit outside on the dirt for a year as she could not find anyone to fix it for her out in the sticks where she moved to. She even got another transmission for the car. So she had it on Craig's list for about 4 months and the price kept dropping to the point where I had to look at it! No rust, but would not start, brakes all seized up and interior and paint TX baked. So I gave her $1300 and dragged it home. Got it running the next day after replacing the glow plugs and drove it with no issues in the transmission. So I replaced all the brake calipers, rotors, MC, pads and flex lines, two new axles, rebuilt the driveshaft, new trans. mounts, rebuilt the SLS, bare metal windows out respray in original Cypress green metallic. I then picked up a great parts car with only 84k miles on it that had been stored inside a dry garage for over 24 years. The complete interior and trim was used in the green wagon. And I finally just fitted some BBS wheels with 225/45R16's on them. I also have parted out a few W123 cars, so if you need parts let me know, as I have a bunch!

nice. im in the process of reviving a <$500 '83 300d as we speak.

Would you happen to have an extra rubber trim piece for the passenger side of the front bumper? the piece underneath the headlight

Very nice job! Great end product!! And we love the 'Mogs in the background.

However----IMHO---thos BBS wheels truly suck as they make an MB look like a BMW and nothing can change that perception except
getting rid of the darn things. The original wheels looked just fine.
