I replaced a main beam with H4 bulb recently. About $10 from Napa. But I am going to look into some brighter options for both headlights. They seem a little lacking at night.

The European headlights are very good and only about $200 each side for the originals from the MB Classic Center .
E-Pay had DEPO brand ones for $200 the pair, super cheapo but look nice and illuminate O.K. . 7" bulb - in lamps are available every where and use the standard H1 bulbs, if you chose hotter than the stock 65 watt high beams you'd be wise to buy some headlight relays so they're nice and bright and don't cook the wiring harness and headlight switch . That Euro 230CE looks very sharp . |
I replaced mine with Bosch H4 motorcycle headlamps. They provide an excellent flat-topped cutoff low beam and a real road burner high beam. Been in there about 7 years.

what's the story on that Cabrio 123?
what's the story with your W123 cabriolet? Did you purchase it this way, or have it converted yourself? Is the top electrically or hydraulically assisted? I've never seen a W123 Cabrio in person, only in photos, so I am really curious about them!

My top happens to be manual, and I bought it that way back in 1996, when I saw it I had to have it here's another photo of it |
Still have mine but it caught fire. If anyone has a automatic transmission for sale let me know

W123 Transmission
First you need to look at the tranny series number stamped into the (IIRC) left upper pan flange, it'll begin with 722. and you'll need to post the last three numbers along with where you're located .
FWIW, I learned that proper adjustment and servicing of these fine four speed automatics will bring the dead ones back to life.... My 1982 240D's 722.11? tranny flared a lot and finally stopped going into 4th gear, I took it to an old M-B factory trained Mechanic I know and told him to rebuild it, he spent two hours adjusting it and topped up the fluid, it shifted like _new_ again so I changed the fluid (torque converter too) and added a yellow bottle of " TRANS-X " as suggested by a old timer here and the tranny stopped leaking ATF and shifted fine for 40,000 + miles when I decided to have it rebuilt before it stranded me . |
