My reliably driveable project 300TD
Dangerously slow when I got her, but after reading and reading and reading on this forum (thanks, folks!), I drained and cleaned the fuel tank and cleaned its filter, replaced the other two fuel filters, ran some Diesel Kleen through it,and it runs great. Love this forum.

Here is mine It was in storage with a busted oil pan
for 900 dollars. After a new oil pan, injector nozzles and glow plugs, it fires up with only a couple revs of the starter. Only 159K on it now. I love this car already

SWEET ! .
Beware of those oil pan pixies ! they've attacked the oil pan on my 300CD many many times, I come out in the morning to discover weeping oil from a ground paper thin part just ahead of the drain plug .
Thankfully new OM661 & 617 oil pans are not $pendy .
Give that paint some love and it'll out last you .

I'm in process of refurbishing the brakes and suspension system now. I can't wait to get it out and open it up with all new suspension in it.
once I put a new radiator and water pump in it, I should be able to take it coast to coast

Coast To Coast
Indeed you should ! .
I've been driving coast to coast for many decades and even in my then clapped out engine automatic tranny equipped 1982 240D sedan I always had a nice time, safe and comfy if a bit slow up the hills .

yea I'm going to doll this one up and drive it for my retirement years. It's coming along nicely.

Good Shock Absorbers
Yes, the best ones for your car regardless of make .
Put 'em on and forget about them close to forever .
The have regular and HD versions, I always use the HD's, even on my old American pickup truck and 1959 Metropolitan Nash FHC......
Buy 'em here affordably : https://www.shockwarehouse.com/
Or grab the P/N and search for cheaper .

these ones still felt like they were good so I put them back in. They expand all the way when they're removed, so they must be gas shocks. I will keep this in mind though for when they do go

I may still have access to a pair of those through a friend and I'm debating on whether I want to put them on my ol' 240D. I just wonder if bulbs are any tougher to get and/or spendy. I'm in the West coast US.
