ok since i trashed my car and wheels i want new ones.

this is what i am thinking of
http://www.hopupracing.com/mayastm.html

what size can i run? with what offset? and what size tires? btw i just had the fenders rolled.

http://store1.yimg.com/I/hopup1_1854_129464831

if you guys have other suggs please post them. i really like the blk chrome, the deepdish, and the snowflake look. and yes these are expensive. i hope to get them wholesale. if i cant i want other options.

the bbs rx II are about the same price but are 3 piece and are not blck chrome.

the bbs rx is the non-3 piece. what do you all think?

Holson 07-26-2005 02:53 PM

I like the BBS RXs a lot, if you had the fender lips rolled, you could probably run 225/40/18s without any difficulties, or maybe even 235/40/18s?

CDP 07-26-2005 03:57 PM

Eric,

I'm really liking the BBS RX. Those would look great on your car. Hell, BBS wheels always look great on German cars. I would only recommend 225's all around, 235 is a little pushing it.

Makahveli 07-26-2005 04:27 PM

Must I get my fender lips rolled for my 300ce? It has 225/35zr18's in the front and 235/40zr18's in the rear. I wanna get the H&R springs with the 1.5" drop in the front and 1.3" in the rear.

CDP 07-26-2005 04:36 PM

Makahveli,

you'll definitely need a good spring pad set up once you lower your car and to roll your fenders.

I could put 235/45-17's on my car but I would have to do a lot of modifications to not make it rub. Alon will tell you that for sure.

Are your wheels staggered which is why you're going wider in the rear?

AMG_Eric 07-26-2005 04:43 PM

i have 235/40 17 now. they dont rub. however i rolled the fenders during paint so i have more options.

which rx do you like?

rx

or
rx 2 (3 peice with all the screws)

If i ever get some money i will make my own design custom wheel out of billet and have a big polish lip in the back with a custom offset both rear and front. I'm thinking 18x8.5 in the back and 18x7 in the front. If you need to find the company that does this i can give you their number. They make wheels for most hot rods but they can drill out almost any bolt pattern.

can you say EXPENSIVE?? those rims would cost more then the car is worth...LOL

CDP 07-26-2005 04:53 PM

Eric, go with the BBS RX. The car in my opinion wouldn't flow with the 3piece.

The first one isn't too bad, but personally I like the AMG Monoblocks II. Here are 2 other rims I'd consider:

AMG_Eric 07-26-2005 08:53 PM

carelsons arent my thing. i have had big centered wheels for a long time. i want a change where you can see my big brakes.

NorCal124 07-26-2005 09:01 PM

Have you thought about Borbets?

CDP 07-27-2005 02:00 AM

Those Brabus wheels are sexy, I actually thought about getting Brabus at one time but never found a good deal on them.

Makahveli 07-27-2005 02:22 AM

I have the AMG monoblock double spoke 18"s. I think 8.5 inches wide. Here is an actual picture of the wheels on the car, sometimes the link works and sometimes it don't:

FiFth_StreetZ 07-27-2005 09:08 AM

are you going to be selling your AMG monoblocks once you get your new rims??

AMG_Eric 07-27-2005 11:58 AM

jrmd i like the wheels in the 1st pick on the 124 but i want them in black chrome. no more polished business or chrome. the c-class rims dont look that bad either. post up the brands please and a rough price.

yes i will. they will include the rubber if i go with 18" wheels. also keep in mind i curbed 2 of the rims. they run about 400-500 new each and i wont asking anywhere near that.

ah the amg look alikes. i love those but i want the real deal. the real deals are 2k each and only fit the bigger cars. they also come in black chrome if you get the real ones.

Makahveli 07-27-2005 07:58 PM

They are? Damn I got conned, oh well thay came with the car with the orginal stock wheels and tires anyway. Well I still feel that the car was worth the price with only 75k miles for just under $7K
