how much for the paint job? Looks good, it will look even better once you paint the lower body panels.

Nice picture at the end.

paint looks nice. you gotta ditch the 2 tone. when they painted mine they painted behind the panels and then painted the panels separately and just installed them

also one word of warning. watch the mirror covers. they will crack over time. you can have them repainted by removing and repainting them. that is why i didnt have mine painted. i saw ramm's and that convinced me that i would have to revisist the paint on them at a later date.

other then that good job. i think u said u paid 3k or something. cant wait to see it and DONT WRECK YOUR CAR LIKE I DID 1 WEEK LATER.

8$ haha
i did it myself and ur not gonna beleive what i painted it with. krylon chrome paint is a match like no other.... i came across it randomly and it was $3.99 for the tape and $4.99 for the paint and i used it to the last drop. looks amazing and is durable as F***
i went on a 5 hour round trip camping adventure and i was doin 170-190 kmph and no chips at all. and as for the black mirror peice.. the krylon has amazing flex... try it out ull be impressed. only if u have the same color as me of course. thanks for the compliments, glad u liked the last picture chris haha, later

I have a lot of left over paint from painting my headlight panels. I might take off my trunk handle and those mirrors one day and paint them. Should look cool white.

That's crazy how that paint was a identical match. Did you primer before? lol

Yeah, I got the wheels almost two months ago but still haven't installed them. I've been spending money else where so I'm not in the budget to install them. I was planning on fixing them first and then install them, but people talked me into just installing them and fix them later. They should be on in a couple weeks.

So when are you going to paint the lower panels?

Speaking of which, does anyone know the grey color code to my grey lower body panels!?!

You got lucky with the paint match!! The monochromatic look is always a winner. I had my mirror covers, grill, moldings,W210 GPS antenna, door handles and bumpers painted also, but they had to sand and use flex primer. This was to ensure of no chipping whatsoever. I had the car for about 9 months and the paint never flaked or chipped.

BTW: I got crazy and made them shave my squirters and factory antenna.

Mike, the antenna looks hot! I might do that in the future. How did that install go? Right now I have no antenna motor and what not since I pulled it all out. All I have is the antenna upper and lower seals installed.

Eric, can you give me some good links? I'm not really in a rush to buy it though. I've been without a antenna since Antenna. Who needs the radio anyways when you have an Ipod?

The grill and mirrors came out pretty nice. (Although personally I would rather have them black.) The rubber piece around the mirror will eventually crack and peel. But since it'll only cost you a few $ to redo it, that shouldn't be a problem.

You went "RICE" on the headlight wipers. Should have left that black. It just doesn't look "right". Should have stopped while you were ahead. Hehehe. It's all good, to each his own. Overall you car looks great.

Chris....

I keep reading that you have wheels, but haven't put them on. Why? As soon as I got my wheels, I went out and bought tires so that I could put them on immediately.

yo yo yo. reason why I haven't put them on? Hmm...first I was waiting to fix them and then put them on. Now, I'm saying forget that and let's put them on for the hell of it and fix them later. They would be on already if I didn't have to use my money elsewhere. Therefore, I'm saving money to do everything at once and mod the car to make the wheels fit without rubbing. Also, I had tuition to pay for so that made a hole in my wallet. They'll probably be put on temp. in a couple weeks.

When you say "fix" them...what are you fixing? Are the rims bent? Or do you mean you're redoing the finish ie. powder coat, polish, chroming? Or do you mean you need to buy tires and have them mounted and balanced? Dude...Just put it on while you're "modding"...your car will look 100% better.

Don't use school tuition as an excuse. I know you've been skipping morning classes because you've been spending your nights at the strip bar . hehehehe. :p

hahahaha. Yeah, all four of the wheels have slightly bent lips but are still driveable. Curb rashes infest all the wheels as well. I plain on powder coating the wheels all over again to look like new and the lips need to be repolished. Quite frankly, that's 600 bucks I can't afford to put towards the wheels right now. I also need to get tires, I'm awaiting on some friends to see if they can hook me up with a set. I'm just going to put them on in the mean while. I'll still have to roll my fenders all around, add fender spacers in the front and adjust the ride height with spring pads. Hence, another factor which adds to the final budget. All in all, I'm looking to spend 1k + just to get these wheels on.

and hey! the only morning class I would skip was chem. lol who wants to go to that 7:30 in the morning???

Jeff, it's really simple. there are two bolts that hold the wiper panels in place. One is in front besides the panel bolted in front of the headlights sort of by the radiator. The other you will have to remove the corner lights and it'll be on the bottom. It'll be the nut there. You might also have to loosen the headlights itself to remove the panels. If you must, you can just take off the side bolts that are covered by the corner llights and the top plastic screw and it should come off fine. If you have wipers, I believe you'll have to completely remove the headlights. Hope that helps.
