20's Anyone?

Check out what some brave soul decided to do. A 300E on 20" rims.

Shhh I would do it but just for the PIMP factor :woowoo: . When i get some money I will go with 19" rims in a custom offset with a 2.5" chrome lip in the back with a streched out tire. I love that look also my stang is getting cutoms 2 piece wheels too! :y

Look nice but too many problems in the front!

OMG What if i do 20" in the back and 18" in the front  ? Hot Rod Style!! Well i am a hot rodder :zoom: and is common to do this on hot rods and muscle cars. :y

wth...why would he do such a thing. it looks ugly with 20's and having it ride so high

NorCal124 Jul 31, 2005 03:20 AM

The car looks as if it is off balance. Even if he could lower the car it wouldn't look right. I've only seen 20s mounted well on the newer MBs.

Makahveli Jul 31, 2005 05:32 AM

Here are my thoughts to bigger wheels.... since white walls aren't the classy modern thing to do anymore. I think that Getting bigger wheels like 20's are the the modern style of wheels to accomadate for while walls. It makes the car look broader. Does anyone agree and how can you completely disagree?

cap'n jasper Jul 31, 2005 08:06 AM

I think it looks fine.....

Well like i said in my other post i will have 20" rims in the back and 18" in the front of my stang but the back will be tubbed so the wheels tuck under the fender and is even with the body lines I will also have air shocks. I like the look in the back but the fronts HELL NO!! That ride i bet feels like SHHHYT!

Anyways i know how you feel makahveli in these forums because some people are just too scared to mod their benzes. I even did louis vuitton on my roof of the benz but after a while i took the shhhyt of because it depends where you at. In the ghetto a louis vuitton interior is like DAMN THAT'S THE SHHISNIT!! and in the burbs it's like EWWW!!

yea some places they prefer sound over appearance... like in mexico. lol. the cars are too crappy and they get hit all the time. i liked your LV and im not in the ghetto. nice and unique. what i want to do is get like that thin carpet thats found in like the new cars like my dad's new 745 li. you still have the suede right??

Now thats a very valid point you made. See, everyone likes to keep their benz stock. I hate stock, so I went ahead and modded mine. I'll tell you one thing, at first I was given every reason in the book not to, but I still did it. The end product turned out fine to me. I only needed to lower it and colormatch the wheels. The look I go for is the one where it can fit in the ghetto, and in the suburbs. It has to be tastefully done, so you can still be able to drive up to a nice restaraunt in it, and not even be stereotyped. When I drive my Monte Carlo, people can not say "Definitely a (racial slur here) car"

Makahveli Aug 1, 2005 08:49 PM

Yeah you never know he could have another car at home that he pampers and it could be a newer bigger benz. Project cars aren't for what somebody else wants, but the owner.

Makahveli Aug 1, 2005 08:52 PM

I'm pretty sure that if people really got the car they wanted, the w124 would not be their first choice.

CE750 Aug 1, 2005 09:16 PM

Yeah, but just think... he'll save a ton of money on tires since all he has to do is paint some rubber on his rims with a paint brush ever week or so.

He broke the cardinal rule of "your rims should never cost more than your car"

Makahveli Aug 1, 2005 09:40 PM

They can still be cheap rims, I know at sears you can get 20's really cheap

e320newbie Aug 2, 2005 02:02 AM

can someone make a picture like that of my car? get a pic from the fresh paint thread

E320BENZ Aug 2, 2005 01:16 PM

you can get better rims out of a crakerjack box.... those are gettooooo

Makahveli Aug 3, 2005 03:13 PM

Truthfully for an 86' it looks nice. And its for sale claiming that it has brabus rims on it. For a 20 years old I give the owner props.

And that's what they'll end up looking cheap.
