Well guys, I went ahead and bought the black projector lights instead of the euros (for those of you that know, I was too broke to shell $100 more for the euros -sad, I know!)

With everyone now leaning towards HID conversion I figured why the hell not?

So, with that said here are some pix.

I will probably show before and after if my lazy *** is willing to.

enjoy! Got these today 8/11/06

Haters, Lovers, Brothers welcome.

Wait until tonight to install them so we can see before and after pictures of the output. And by pictures of output, i mean pictures of the road and not the headlight directly turned on

I've never really been a huge fan of HIDs. Although they output a LOT more light, I find that I'm more often than not annoyed with drivers of HID equipped cars as the brightness of their lights make it hard to see anything on the road BESIDES their lights. Furthermore, the city streets up here are well enough illuminated that HIDs are overkill.

IMHO Euros with some decent bulbs is all you really need to improve your night visibility. NAm spec lights on pre-1994 MBs were crap because they still used the inferior DOT-spec beam pattern. I have no intention of converting to HID lights on any of my cars.

Saij -

I really like the lights but to be honest with you I would be DEATHLY afraid of moddifying these more so than they already have been.

They are kinda put together cheaply (I expected this) and look a tad flimsy even...although they feel quite solid they still lack that german toughness I'm so used to...

Well what do you expect from something that was made in Taiwan LOL

I would like to know from other (like symmic or katmac) alternative headlight owners how they feel about the quality of their product.

Well you get what you pay for I guess

i'm too broke to do any HID conversion, and I have NO plans on making my lights brighter. I just upgraded (or downgraded, for all you traditionalists) to these lights for better light output/better looks, anything beats DOT I freakin hate those lights! PUKE! I totally agree with you on the HID drivers blinding the **** out of me at night, but those are usually the ones who have modded their cars to HID, like honda ricers, for example.

Saij - I do have sylverstars, and they work a-hellofa-lot better than standard bulbs.

The problem is, most people just cram really bright bulbs in their DOT spec headlights, which usually aren't even aimed properly, and then the just spray bright light in all directions. High quality HID lights are focused in such a way as to be intensely bright on the road, but not in anyone's eyes. Just drive behind a new Benz or BMW and look at how the light pattern just stops at a certain point where it would blind anyone.

^^ Thats what I want. I hate being blinded by HIDs too but if I were to do it, I would be sure that it was done proper so that I get the best benefit of good lighting and I dont endanger anyone else by way of my super cool new lights

Shadowgriffen, can you do a quick measure and tell us what the inside diameter of the outer light housing is? Looks like around 3- 3.5" or so.

Thanks!

Are you thinking what im thinking with HID/projectors from another car? That it might not need the 70+ hour procedure that 2phast went through?

My oh my, well, now those ARE interesting! Looks like I just wasted 70 hours of my life !?

Seriously, someone should email the seller for more info. The ad is noticeably lacking in specs and such, which makes me a wee suspicious.

BTW, the housing is exactly the same as the one I used for my HID conversion.
