Sylvania or Eurolite?
 

This might have been posted already but forum search didn't find anything

I want to get some ultra white hid fusion bulbs for my 95 e320 coupe and i wanted to know if anyone here can recommend a brand? Sylvania, eurolite or maybe another brand i might not have thought of?

I want ultra white bulbs, not purpleish and no permanent marker tinting . . .

You have the cool OEM ones, what are you going to do with those??

I am going to keep them, i want to keep anything that i replace on my car just so i have all of the original parts, i might actually just keep my current side markers and put a ultra white bulb in them since only a 3rd of the lens is tinted yellow, might for a nice effect

I also have another question, what exactly is a "Dip Beam"?, PIAA's chart lists dip beam as one of the lights, is this the high beam?

that's the low beam.

Before my black reflectors, I had no problem with ebay frosted corners.

Alot of people on here find ebay to be a **** hole, but I personally have had great luck with Egay. :hay:

After looking around a bit i found a set of the H4s and H3's, the super white xtreme plus' (main beams and fogs) for 52 bucks and free shipping from a power seller ebay store (the bulbs go for around $66 from dealer) which i am probably going to get but i can not find the W5W bulbs (corner/side markers) anywhere, even on the dealer page . . .

Also wondering, what is the power usage on the stock bulbs on my car?

12v 55W.

The H3 fogs are yellow and the H4 are "intense white"

The H3s cost $60+tax and the H4s cost $50+tax.

PIAA gives you the output equivalent of 135W from a 55W bulb.

What do you think of the bulbs since you actually use them?

I think i am going to go with the xtreme white plus for both my main beams and fogs and if i can find the w5w's i will also try them in my corner's and the s's for the reverse light

I want to get rid of everything yellow on my car if possible, i would like to eventually do ultra white for the interior lighting as well :word:

they are really amazing. I still really have a hard time believing that these bulbs can really be as much better than anything else as they are. I was originally using some cheap ass Sylvania halogens ($17 each) and they were good, maybe a 6/10. When I got my euros, I switched to Silverstars ($20 each (?)) and those were even better - like 8/10. Then I wanted to replace my amber (more like brown) fogs and I got the yellow PIAA H3s and holy **** - 11/10 (this one goes to 11) so I had to get the H4s (15/10). I would have never thought that a bulb could be so different from any other bulb.

Sweet, im sold, i was worrying about switching bulbs because iv seen some people do it to their rides and it ends up looking pretty tacky because of the bulbs they use, i had never even heard of these before

I'm just a cheap SOB and wouldn't spend that much on bulbs...

some people seem to think that the higher the K rating, the better. What happens is that the higher you go, you start shifting into purple light, which people like because they think it looks like HID or something, but the brightness suffers for it.

Hey, I'm the cheapest guy going, until I see that something is really worth the money. You won't be disappointed.

Chris was talking about selling his PIAA bulbs from his old car (God rest her soul), maybe you should hit him up. I know they're not the 4100K that I got, though - those just came out about 3 weeks ago.

PIAA is not that great. All bulbs ( including the new sylvania silverstars and the PIAA brands ) have tinted bulbs. They are coated in a blue or yellow tint to give the appearance of yellow light or a bright white. The tint lowers the output and fools the customer to believe that they are brighter. Sure they may be brighter in kelvin ( temperature, color of the light ) but there is actually less output. If I were you, I would get some clear bulb like this one. This is the one that I have and looks good. Not as white as some previous ones that I had that had the blue tint but they have a better light output.

I'm almost certain that 70W bulbs are not street legal.

i dont think it matters much if they street legal or not. our euros arent street legal, and who is going to say anything about our bulbs when their are people out there with xenons and can be seen from the moon :nix:

by the way, before i got my euros i had a lot of luck with these
they arent street legal, but when i couldnt see anything with all the other bulbs ive tried, they helped me out a lot
