1992 500e Wrecked Fs
I've got a 1992 500E with 174,542 that I bought with the intent of repairing, and owning.
As I already have a few other projects at hand I have since changed my mind, (or should I say Mama has changed it for me).
Car is hit in left front corner, Engine starts and runs strong, can send pics.
Any offer over $3000.00 would take it.

I do not remember what the official estimate was. I will look for it. This car is only worth doing if you were going to do a lot of the work yourself as a project.
As I work at a Benz dealer I do tend to get into these projects at will sometimes. I also have a 1992 300E and an 06 E350 and was hoping to add to my stable. But as I am sitting on a 1965 Mustang,an 83 Monte Carlo show car and a Dodge Intrepid, I have had the hammer dropped by SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED.
If you were to put it together to sell it would probably be a break even scenario, but it is great as a daily driver project.
I am still debating on selling as is or parting out. The paint on the whole car would have to be redone as there is spidering on the roof and deck lid. The interior is in good shape, some wear on the drivers seat and some of the wood is cracking in spots, but no tears or dash cracks.

Not much damage to critical components. and a 500E for $3000 is a steal...repairs should be around 5000$
So at the end of it, you might sitting with a 500E for about 8000$ !! WHAT WHAT ??

Mine was smashed at the same area about half as deep, and it cost $4500 for the repair. If it had gone any further it would have taken out the A/C receiver and ABS pump. I don't know if this car has those located at the same place or not, but that alone would be a nice chunk of change. If I were single and retired I would be taking it off your hands, though.

it doesn't look thaaat bad. But it is an old mb, which means everything is hard to find slash get installed for cheap unless it is a diy. Good luck though, man. I'm very jealous.

Here are some pics of the interior, I showed the worst spot which is the drivers bolster.
The estimate was $8500.00, but of course that was at full tilt retail and full labor. Car is a great project however for a skilled or somewhat skilled DIY'er.

Here is a shot of one of the 500Es. It has 235K miles on it. That was taken this winter after the Rolex24 and trip to the Keys. It is getting its newly rebuilt engine put in this weekend after a leak was found in the upper oilpan gasket on the trip.
New paint and toys will come later this year.

Here is a family portrait from last year. The twin turbo 300SEL in front, Sportline prior to its lower cladding paint and front air dam and on the trailer is one of the 500Es that I picked up.
I am planning a new family portrait in June or so after some paint work.
