NOOOO!!! I got rear ended

I was waiting at a toll plaza to get on the FL turnpike when a brand new Dodge Ram 3500 hit the E-class at around 20 mph. This idiot wasnt paying attention at all and did a number on the benz.

The KBB is around 3k, which is not even close to what the car is worth to us, as it would cost way more to replace it.

Im praying that I can work it out with our insurance company and get the car fixed instead of totalling it.

Here are some pics:

On the bright side....I already have new tail lights...lol

Where can I find a good salvage yard to get a new trunk and rear quarter panels??? Im hoping if I pull them off another car I will be able to cut down on costs, considering the whole car has to be repainted now.

Im pretty pissed this happened as I have all these parts waiting to go into the car, If it ends up being totalled, i will be forced to sell the parts....

I have
H&R springs / Bilstien sport shocks
Headlights, Tail lights, eyelids, wiper delete bars

Any advice and info on salvage yards will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

TIA

Damn, bummer! Rear end crunch zones can work against you

If you do end up selling parts I might be interested in the Bilstien sports (front pair) but I hope thats not what happends, however, the insurance company will hassle you for sure.

dont accept the first offer from the insurance company. get three quotes from various bodyshops first. go the benz dealer as one of them. ask around to see if there are expensive shops and get your quotes from them.

you choose where they repair it. dont let them foist you on some shop of thier choice unless you are also happy with that choice.

There are tons of front end collision w124s out there... so fear not for a new rear clip.

It's doubtful professional repair will cost less than it's valued amount. The quarter panels would have to be welded. Mine was damaged from a rear ender and totaled.

My advise, take your losses with the insurance company and find another. They are a pain to work with if you have a non-stock car.

At least he didn't hit your Cayenne!

Whoa! This is nothing compared to what happened to me. Some sonata hit me from behind head on, no braking or anything. Going about 25+. My whole rear is totaled... And she pushed my car into the car in front of me. Unbelievable. The rear chassis must be cut for repairs and I'm in no need to pay that much. Right when I got my new paint job, and valve job, musta spent about 5k on em. And on top of that it was the same week I was going to install my new vogtlands that my friends all pitched in for. It was my birthday the week before. As of now, I try to search for a car as good as mine. I go to the chiropractor everyday and take painkiller medicine to numb the pain in my spine. Honestly, I couldn't imagine it any worse. Reguards man.

UPDATE!!.......

So I didn't want to post up again until I figured out what was going to happen to lil' benzy......

We decided, it would be dumb to ditch the car for $4500 and buy a new E-class .....so we are going to fix her up!!!

The insurance company gave us 74.9% of the car (in FL , if they pay 75% the car must be scrapped) which came out to $3,329...

MB of west palm gave us an estimate of $5800, which includes a full repaint!!!!!

Minus 510 for new taillights....(already got the LED's)
Minus 300 for a new power antenna (thanks to ebay)

Sooooo she will go into the body shop sometime this week and will probably be ready within the month.....

Im really happy that the car will get another lease on life and cant wait to see how hawt she looks when its all done!!!

I also ordered a new front bumper from ebay..... its the raceonusa amg replica.....which I am having shipped right to the MB body shop.

Also......in my research with the 124, I was talking to my body shop in PA and found out the manager has a 1994 or 1995 (???) MB 124 convertible.... black with chrome wheels......WITH ONLY 7K ON IT...... it was his grandmas car and she never drove it..... i think it was a 300, but I could be wrong.... 400 maybe?? Im very seriously contemplating buying it and using it in the summer. Could be too hot to pass up!!

OT....

The Cayenne got a new head unit ....Pioneer Avic Z2, new radar, and custom sub enclosure that is buried in the floor of the trunk.... along with an exhaust swap from straight pipes to the muffled fabspeed exhaust.

and b/c i hate threads with no pics... lol...

After: (not finished product)

I will keep this thread updated as progress begins....

STLE320-- They are 12inch JL W7's in the JL high output boxes.......and as you know they pound to the point of ridiculousness.......

As for the A4 talk, I would have to disagree with some of your guys. I wouldn't consider it a "girls" car.....like a vw beetle or c230 hatch or even a bmw z3.......

I know more guys that drive A4's then girls for sure......and for some reason pretty much all the girls I do know that drive A4's drive the cabriolet's.....which is a very hot car for a girl i might add!!

The combo of good looks, great price, amazing handling/quattro and the mod-ability of the 1.8T is unrivaled....I would buy one over a base model C-class or 3 series in 2 seconds without a second thought.....

Here is my boys 300hp A4 1.8T with the GT28 AWE Tuning upgrade......

I hope you have a high stated value with your insurance company or you will only get a few grand..... our cars have pretty low KBB values.

new A4 = 30k

I don't know why the down talk on Audi's or A4's in general. I have plenty of friends who have them (Male owners) and they are awesome cars and the aftermarket scene for that car is ridiculous.

I actually wouldn't mind owning a A4. My friend's brother picked up the new RS4 and that thing is SICK.
