Ok. So I'm a first time benz buyer. I love the w124's and have been looking for in my area for a couple of months now. I finally found this one on craigslist and I plan on driving over to check it out.

How much do you think it's worth?

95 e320...sold the rest
I got my 94 in the same color a little over a year ago and I got mine for $8000 after getting my head gasket replaced, water pump, and o2 sensor. Mine had 116k on it when I purchased it. I'd say around 6-7$ with all of the recent work.

I'd keep looking, dealers rarely offer good deals when all is said and done.

Try crazedlist.com for a massive craigslist search all around your state/region. You have to use a browser other than IE (like Mozilla), but if you scout for a few weeks, you will find similar price, less miles and maybe, just the right seller at just the right time!

Will do. I'm really trying hard not to buy the first mb I test out but I'm anxious to get my hands on one.

I'm looking for anything in the New England area. If anyone comes across some deals in that region let me know.

Ive tried Ebay and Craigslist already. Nothing in decent shape or in my price range yet.

Yeah, as long as you don't notice any significant problems that's a good price. Take a good look at the engine wiring harness while you're at it and make sure it doesn't looked frayed or cracked. They biodegrade and the part is around $900 to purchase and replace it yourself. Also, after you start it up put it in reverse and make sure it engages without a delay. Reverse is the first thing to go in the tranny.

Yeah, I have been warned to look at the wiring harness. Thanks for the advice.

I bought the same car -1000 miles in March and I paid $4000.00. There are a ton of them out there if you are patient. Set up an alert for the car you are looking for on Autotrader.com. Test it out and see what you have. These cars are out there in good shape just be patient and watch for the right one. Also consider an e420. the gas mileage is not that different and on the highway it is the same. Look for rust issues around the sunroof, around the edges of the side cladding and by the trim on the liscense plate area. Also make sure the car has a very smooth idle. Pinpointing a rough idle problem can be very long and annoying. W124's are great cars I am very happy with mine even with the little things that I have to fix. They run like they are possessed on the highway and just don't want to stop accelerating. I would definitely stay with the M104 engine , it is twin cam and variable timed and when you hit 3200 rpms it feels like a v-8 steps in to do the accelerating. My only warning would be if you are not a person that can work on cars this car can be pricey to own and keep up. If you are able and willing to do your own work it is only marginally more expensive to maintain. Good luck.

Curious how the car turned out- like I said, the next time I find a "deal" from a dealer that cannot be beat with a good crazed list search...will be the first time. Dealers KNOW the market, they rarely let good deals go by.

I don't think it is WAY overpriced, but you can find a normal owner who underprices

1994 E320 Dragon Wagon
I bought a 94 E320 for $4K and put a grand into it making it right. This car is the finest I've ever owned - period. I make my friends drive it to experience MB quality as a benchmark for any car they will ever consider.

Look at similar year/mileage HonDues and ToyGoata's, they will land $6K 'cause of reliability and quality. Complete myth, Mercs will blow them away in those categories. Buyers have not figured this out yet. (Good for us).

My car listed for nearly $50K in 94. There's a reason. Average buyers are scared of snotty Euro-cars. They hear they're expensive to maintain and back away. Dealers just want to move 'em out to make room for more Accords to whack the un-informed.

I'm not an appraiser, but I'd say the number is right in there by the photos.
