Transmission jack for 300 E transmission
I made a plate that attaches to my floor jack. The bottom of the pan will fit on it fine. I'm wondering if the transmission needs to be secured to the plate somehow.
In other words how stable will the transmission be on the plate which is 27 1/2" by 7"?

You could easily strap it to the plate with some Home Depot ratchet straps.
Go slow though...you don't want to "wear" 130 lbs.

Absolutely chain or strap that tranny to the jack! You'd feel pretty stupid to watch it roll off the jack plate.
I've watched it happen once on a Dodge NV 4500 tranny with the tranfer case attached.....not a pretty sight to behold.
